"Val did an amazing job putting together an idea board and going through the purchasing process for a small cabin we renovated and use as a short term rental. She has access to a bunch of great light fixtures and products that I wouldn’t have been able to find on my own! I’m so grateful for her assistance and the cabin is a huge hit! For a 7-foot-tall column, choose a light strand that is at least 32 feet long. You’ll also need to measure the distance from the column to the closest outlet to get outdoor extension cords that are the right length.

Christmas light cords are long, thin, and flexible—which makes them exceptionally prone to tangling. As you try to untangle the very merry mess, the light bulbs and sockets may catch on the cords, making it even harder to pull cords through the knots.
