"The movers arrived on time and worked quickly. The three men were professional and pleasant to work with. They removed the items from our old house and placed in the new house right where we wanted them. In some cases, when the furniture was too big to go where we wanted it, they were very accommodating as we determined alternative locations. It was very impressive that they were careful about not banging up walls as they moved very large pieces up a flight of stairs and through doorways. The job was completed in a very timely manner and we are completely satisfied."

Moving questions, answered by experts

The first step to choosing a relocation company is determining the distance of your move, types of services needed, and how many professional movers you need to hire. Once you set the parameter of your move, get price quotes from at least three local moving companies to compare pricing. Then, choose a relocation company that fits within your budget, supplies the necessary services, and has positive reviews from previous moving customers.

Depending on your safe’s size and weight, we don’t recommend moving the safe without hiring professional movers. A moving service will have the equipment and skills necessary to move this heavy, bulk item safely. If you insist on moving it yourself, enlist the help of a few friends to help you move the gun safe with a furniture dolly.

Most hardware stores or shipping centers have mirror boxes and moving supplies. You can find most of what you need online, but if you’re still having trouble, contact your movers or moving truck rental company. They may sell boxes and packing supplies, too.

It’s typically more cost-effective to move a building along with its accessories than to demolish and rebuild it from scratch. However, that’s only if you can move the accessories without damaging them. However, if you plan to demolish the accessories anyway, it is advisable to do so before the move to save costs.

Using moving pods is generally cheaper than hiring a full-service moving company, primarily because you handle the packing and loading yourself, which eliminates labor costs. The cost savings are most significant for long-distance or cross-country moves; for local moves, hiring a moving company might be the more economical option. Renting and shipping moving pods can cost between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on factors like distance, the number of containers, and the weight of your items. Some services also charge a monthly rental fee of $75 to $200. In comparison, hiring a professional moving company for a long-distance move typically costs between $2,700 and $10,000.
