"Mr. FIX IT has a great customer service team that are very helpful and friendly. They keep you informed every step along the way! The installation team of Kevin and Eddie were very professional and possessed ultimate knowledge of their task. They installed a new "Jacuzzi Bath" converting my 40 year old bathtub/shower combination into a beautiful and modern walk in shower! It looks fantastic! I will say that the conversion was not cheap, but quality materials and workmanship never is! I highly recommend "MR. FIX IT" and would not hesitate to use their services in the future! "Fletcher did an excellent job on the roof repair. The price was very high. It was $800 for 3 hours of work by an experienced roof repairman, and included about $50 worth of material. This seems high, but the other roofers who visited (both Home Advisor companies and others) wanted to do a bigger job than I thought I needed."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.

Yes, plumbing in a mobile or manufactured home is different from that in a traditional home. The most significant differences relate to the design, location, and materials used. In a standard home, plumbing pipes typically run through the walls. In a mobile home, which is not a permanent structure, the pipes are often smaller and routed through the floor or a crawl space underneath the home. Additionally, the building codes, permits, and materials used for mobile home plumbing can differ from those for standard homes. For specific details about the design and installation of your mobile home's plumbing, it's best to consult a certified professional plumber with experience in this area.

Soda, coffee, and other soft drinks are highly acidic. This affects the pH in septic tanks, causing them to require more frequent pumping. However, a vast majority of people don't need to worry about septic system disruption. Pouring out the occasional flat soda doesn’t affect septic systems to the same degree as the high-volume dumping from restaurants and convenience stores.

Prices for shower drain styles vary. For example, a linear shower drain costs about $200 or more for the part alone compared to about $15 for a circular shower drain. Also, linear shower drains typically require a shower remodel to use them, so you may pay a few hundred dollars more for labor. Read about the pros and cons of linear shower drains.

Even if the shower drain doesn’t seem clogged or dirty, plan to clean it out about once per month—or more frequently if you or your family shed a lot of hair. It’s a good practice to remove any hair from the drain on a daily basis, as hair can accumulate fast and cause clogs in no time. You may also want to have a plumber thoroughly clean the drains in your home once every six months.
