Rigo came in and designed a beautiful layout for a patio that completely surrounded the addition. The one continuous pour provides a walking area from our side gate out around the end of the addition back under our new covered area and stops at our new back door. It is grey colored concrete stamped to look like stone with a border of contrasting color. Rigo also incorporated two corners that sweep to a point so the patio is not just a square slab. Results are great looking and complement two other stamped patios that were put in a few years ago. The new patio butts up against one of the old patios so Rigo incorporated a step down from the new to the old. It is seamless and beautiful. A big part of the job was removing dirt and debris and leveling the area. All work was done quickly as possible and cleanup afterwards was above and beyond. Rigo did a small retaining wall years ago for us and it has withstood the shoving of dirt and heavy equipment used to make way for the removal of a huge stump and excavation for a slab foundation. He even carried the stones to an empty field across the street to be cut, so the dust stayed off the neighbors and my house. We would not hesitate to use King Koncrete in the future and even the men finishing our addition remarked how nice it looks. Payment was $1000 deposit, the remainder when job was done to customers satisfaction. Plenty fair in my opinion. We highly recommend King Koncrete and would like to remind members that they do all kinds of stonework, not just stamped concrete. In a word it is "Awesome." Throughout the process he worked with us, to ensure that he understood what we wanted and kept us informed on the status of the project on a daily basis. His four man crew were professional and did an excellent job keeping the job site clean and orderly throughout the process which lasted 2 weeks (slight delay due to weather). Their attention to detail was superb, in particular, the use of natural materials and the arrangement of the various sized boulders was outstanding. To top it off, their use of lighting makes the project spectacular at night. I was also impressed with the care that was taken to minimize damage to my yard, since heavy earth moving equipment was used to excavate and move the rock work. Virginia Water Gardens is the only certified Aquascape contractor in the area. and as such, honors all manufacturer warranties and guarantees their workmanship for one year. During the planning stage of this project, we received positive feedback from a number of Landscape companies, one of which incorporated a Virginia Water Gardens waterfall design in their proposal. Bottom line: I highly recommend Virginia Water Gardens for any water feature project. FAQs for excavation projects in Heathsville, VA
Unfortunately, some plumbing scenarios, like a broken sewer pipe repair, will require excavation to complete the job. Plumbing excavation costs range from $30 to $70per cubic foot. However, if you need additional trenching, expect to pay an extra $4 to $12per linear foot. Keep in mind that these costs are on top of the plumbing repair costs, and they don’t account for labor costs. Consult your excavation specialist to determine an accurate estimate for your job.
The average cost for pool excavation is $2,500. This cost can range from $450 to $4,500, depending on the pool shape and size, time of year, and any need to move buried utilities.
When excavating for your pool, you might have to move existing utilities. You can expect to pay an additional $15 to $25per linear foot to move gas lines. To move a septic system, it’ll cost an additional $2,000 to $20,000. A pool that is 10 feet by 12 feet averages $450 to excavate, and a 20-foot-by-40-foot pool averages $3,020.
The cost for residential excavation is $3,200 on average, ranging between $50 and $200per cubic yard. Total costs could range from $500 to $15,000, depending on the project type, yard size, and soil type.
When a project needs an excavator, the contractor will subcontract one as part of the larger project. If you hire an excavation specialist, you can expect to pay between $40 and $180per hour. When excavating, if you have soil with excessive rocks or clay deposits, expect an additional cost of $200 to $1,200.
Warm weather seasons like spring and summer are ideal times to excavate due to the ground being softer and easier to dig through. However, it is important to note that bad weather, like heavy blizzard conditions or torrential rainfall, can prolong the project length, increasing costs. That’s why it’s best to avoid excavating during winter or hurricane season, depending on your home’s location.
While completing an excavation project yourself is possible, we don’t recommend it. You’ll likely need to buy or rent the equipment necessary for the job. This equipment costs as $100per hour or $2,200 weekly, increasing by as much as 50% for larger jobs.
In addition, completing an excavating job yourself poses a safety risk. If proper marking hasn't occurred, you risk hitting buried cables and other critical piping, like gas and water lines. Additionally, if working with excavation equipment, you’ll need to steer clear of any overhead wires. Leaving this project to an excavating professional is best.
