"“Handyman Connection was a God-send. I needed an AC for my handicapped brother installed. They were so kind and so efficient. It was a breath of fresh air to talk to real people over the phone. Tiffany and Tracy were very customer-friendly and understanding. Marc was an excellent handyman and great with my brother. I highly recommend this company and their services!„"

"Salgagadoâ s Construction does a great job. He put in a backsplash in my kitchen that is beautifully done. He comes on time, prepares the area where the project is to be done to protect countertops and flooring, is very meticulous about his work with perfect measurements, does not rush but takes time to make sure everything is done properly, and he cleans up all materials used in the project. He also put up beadboard in my basement and did a great job with that project, too. I will definitely hire him for future projects. He gets an A++ from me."

"Robert was punctual. He reviewed my "help list" with me and proceeded to accomplish all of my needs. He and his assistant had excellent work ethic, he was honest and caring in all that he did. His price was very fair and his recommendations were right on target. Will certainly use Robert again as needed and certainly can recommend him to others."

"We bought a gazebo and asked for their help to have it put together. The project turned out to be more complicated than we all expected. Kenny & Nathan studied the instructions and got it all put together. It’s just what we wanted!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Baking soda is an effective fire reduction method. However, flour and baking powder are very dangerous around flames. Flour is flammable and it can also conduct electricity. The combination can cause serious injury from electrical shock and worsen the situation by adding fuel to the fire. Baking powder is also not an option as it's also highly flammable.

Yes, mineral spirits are flammable and may spontaneously combust at temperatures of 200 degrees F or more. Storing them in well-ventilated spaces and disposing of them the proper way are the best ways to prevent mineral spirits or anything contaminated with them, like towels and rags, from going up in smoke.

No, a chirping smoke alarm is usually a sign of an issue with the power supply of the unit. This is easily solved by replacing the battery to stop the smoke alarm from beeping. If the chirp continues, review the owner’s manual to determine the cause. These chirps are short and not as loud as the beeping of the alarm itself. If you can’t tell the difference, it’s best to treat it like an activated alarm until you find the cause.

Absolutely! Smoke alarms are lifesavers. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), per 1,000 reported home fires, homes without working smoke alarms have a death rate nearly twice as high as those that do have working alarms. So remember to ensure you have enough installed in your home and that they are working and in good shape.

Pellet stoves burn compressed wood byproducts, making them very efficient and clean-burning. However, even efficient combustion still produces fine dust particles, which could have an effect on the health of vulnerable people in your household, such as infants and people with asthma. A wood stove pro can help determine whether the levels in your home are unsafe.
