"I called Flinn's Rooter Service early in the morning and left a message that I had a clogged drain line from my kitchen sink that I would like to have repaired. Noah immediately returned my call and scheduled an appointment to access the problem. He arrived at the scheduled time, reviewed the situation and told me what it would cost to fix the problem. I agreed to have him do the work which involved going under the house and cleaning out the drain lines. The problem was corrected before noon time. Noah had an excellent attitude and was very responsive in performing the work in a timely and professional manner. I was extremely pleased with all aspects of the project and would highly recommend Flinn's Rooter Service to anyone needing to have drain problems corrected. I will definitely use him again if needed.

"Well done! Its been frustrating for years having my home office require keeping the rest of my 2nd floor at frigid temps all summer to get any kind of decent cooling in the 3rd floor. The Short Pump Air team was great from start to finish, competitive quotes, neat work, they listened to my concerns running the drain lines and addressed them well. I would use them again."

"This company contacted me shortly after I submitted my request. However, they do not perform the type of work I needed. The representative was very helpful. She found out what type of company I needed to hire and the type of drain I needed to have installed to resolve my problem. That advice deserved my five star rating."

"Overall fine install, had a hiccup with equipment that delayed finishing project two days. Put forth a lot of effort to protect surfaces from over spray/cross contamination. Had appropriate personnel protective gear for the crew of two men. Created a complete air tight envelope for the 2 story shed. Pleasantly surprised over the overall improvement in building structural strength. Area for improvement is the notification of customer when in route to the job and when arrive onsite. Cost was a little high, but great product/quality, you get what you pay for. Better than the cheaper options justifies the price. Easy to work with... Before and after photos attached..."
Unsealed porous foundation walls. Efflorescence has grown along the outside walls.
Plastic is laid out to protect the freshly pained walls and floor.
Open vents in the foundation walls allow outside air and moisture to infiltrate the crawl space, increasing the relative humidity and allowing mold spores to thrive inside.
Spray foam application in progress on warehouse walls.
The dirt floor is exposed, which will allow the moisture from the earth to rise uncontested into the crawl space, adding to the increase in relative humidity.

Small jobs welcome

"Juan and his crew did an amazing job! From start to finish I had no problems! Juan was professional, on time, honest, and extremely knowledgeable! Juan helped with great suggestions after describing my idea to him during the free estimate. He communicated when the rain storms kept delaying my project and didn't try to start the job knowing a bad storm was on the way. He cares more about the final outcome than just getting the job done. Juan and his crew are meticulous! They paid attention to every detail. He pitched my driveway just right! No more puddles and I absolutely love the final outcome! I will definitely use JM Concrete LLC for another project and highly recommend them!"

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

There are several potential causes of a gap at the top of your storm door. For one, your door may naturally start to sag as your house settles over time. Other possible explanations include loose screws, faulty hinges, damaged weatherstripping, or incorrect installation. The right solution for fixing a gap will depend on the cause.

You do not have to purchase a storm door if you have a fiberglass door. Fiberglass doors offer numerous advantages, including durability and the ability to stand up to harsh conditions such as low or high temperatures. Fiberglass doors also have excellent insulation properties, so you don’t have to add on a storm door if you’re looking for better temperature regulation inside your home.

No, a storm door should not replace a regular door. It lacks the durability, insulation, and security of a proper exterior door. Most storm doors have lightweight frames and minimal locking hardware, and they aren’t meant to stand alone. While they work well as a backup to your main entry door, relying on one as your only barrier would likely lead to drafts, higher energy bills, and safety concerns.

The time to install a storm door varies based on who is doing the work and the complexity of the job. Professional installation typically takes a few hours, often between 1 to 2 hours, ensuring a perfect fit. For a DIY project with a standard, pre-hung storm door, you can expect it to take about 3 to 5 hours. However, if the door opening needs to be expanded or significant frame adjustments are required, the installation could take more than a day, in which case hiring a professional is recommended.

Homes need solid construction to survive a hurricane, including these parts:

  • A secure foundation at the right elevation for your home’s flood threat level

  • Hurricane straps to secure your home’s foundation

  • Waterproof basement sealant or rubberized sheeting that directs water away from the foundation

  • A strong, well-attached roof that’s firmly secured to the framing

  • Shutters or roll-down window protectors that you can close outside to prevent broken windows

  • A garage door bracing system to keep high winds from caving in or tearing off the door

  • Deadbolts to keep your exterior doors in place against wind pressure and floodwater
