"I recently hired Mark Paulos Painting LLC to paint my condo, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the results! From start to finish, Mark was professional, detail-oriented, and truly went above and beyond what was expected. In addition to the painting, he handled drywall repairs that came out flawlessly — you would never know there was any damage. The finished product looks absolutely beautiful, and the quality of his work exceeded my expectations. Mark was reliable, easy to communicate with, and clearly takes great pride in his craftsmanship. My condo looks like a brand-new space, and I have him to thank for that. I would not hesitate to hire Mark Paulos Painting LLC again and will absolutely be recommending him to friends and family. If you’re looking for a painter who does the job right and then some, look no further!"

"Clint Wallace completed a full master bathroom renovation at our house. He did a great job and was a pleasure to work with. There were a few unanticipated complications as the bathroom had not been touched for 40 years. Clint dealt with all of them with a great attitude and professionalism. We are happy with the finiahed work every day and will use Clint for future work."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

While not always necessary, you can glue a drywall ceiling in addition to using screws or nails. Drywall is typically secured to ceiling joists with fasteners, which is often sufficient. However, adding construction adhesive can offer benefits like preventing sagging, bridging gaps, and reducing air leaks for better energy efficiency. It may also be used for specific acoustic or insulation needs. On the other hand, many professionals advise against it because properly placed screws make the drywall structural, glue doesn't add strength, and it makes future repairs or replacements significantly more difficult. Ultimately, it's best to follow local building codes and project-specific requirements to decide if adhesive is right for your ceiling.

You can put drywall mud over paint to even out the surface or entirely resurface it. Sand the surface with 280-grit sandpaper, vacuum the debris and dust with a shop vac, and clean it with a slightly damp cloth. Allow the surface to dry. Apply drywall primer, especially if you’re skim-coating an entire wall. Apply the right type of drywall mud over the surface and smooth it with a trowel. Allow the layer to cure fully, then sand it before applying another layer or painting it.

You can plaster over regular drywall, but it's essential to prepare the surface properly. Before plastering, the drywall should be clean, free of dust, and any loose or peeling paint should be removed. Applying a primer specifically designed for plastering can improve adhesion. Some professionals recommend applying a base coat of plaster or joint compound to create a better surface for the plaster to adhere to. Proper preparation ensures a smooth and durable plaster finish over regular drywall.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.

Drying alone can take 1 to 4 hours to dry to the touch per plaster layer, but some types of plaster take several hours longer to dry. However, this doesn’t mean the job is done because plaster doesn’t fully harden until it cures, which can take a few days to a couple of weeks. It may take even longer if you’re building a new, pretty thick plaster wall. Allow the plaster to cure before painting it.
