Small jobs welcome

"Brian and crew arrived 2 days after giving the best estimate. They were courteous and professional. They cut down a 40ft tree and cleaned debris in one day. We decided to keep the wood which also helped to keep the cost down. Would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for tree service."

"My husband and I recently hired Kamron Normansell (Kam’s Cutting and Climbing) to trim five trees on our property. We preferred to hire someone who doesn’t use heavy equipment to minimize any damage to our yard. We could not be happier with the results! Two of the trees were growing way too close to each other and Kam recommended we remove the smaller tree so the larger tree would better thrive. Kim uses ropes and tethers to climb trees and perform the needed pruning. We were impressed with how skillfully he maneuvered high up in our trees. Even though he is just starting up his new tree service business, he operates with the expertise and professionalism of a seasoned veteran. He provided a fair estimate, arrived exactly when he said he would and did an outstanding job shaping and pruning our trees. What really stood out was his work ethic; he took great care of our yard and cleaned up every single branch and leaf before he left. We highly recommend him for any tree trimming."

"Professional, efficient, courteous and honest. I would, without reservation, recommend this tree company; I intend contacting them again in the fall for further work on my property. The price they quoted was well within the recommended charge and they arrived on time, completed the work & left the area clean."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Tree roots are hearty and complex systems, so they don’t die immediately after the rest of the tree is removed. If you leave the root system in place, it takes anywhere from two to seven years for it to run out of nutrients. It is worth noting, however, that the roots stop growing and expanding after cutting down the rest of the tree.

It may not be worth it to rake every leaf in your yard, but it’s necessary to remove the majority of leaves to prevent them from smothering grass growth on your lawn. However, raking leaves isn’t your only option for leaf removal. You can remove leaves easily with a leaf blower or compost or mulch them with your lawn mower to repurpose them to help grow your garden or yard.

Many consider the Fraser fir to be the most popular type of Christmas tree, but which type of tree sells out near you can depend on region and decorating trends that year. For example, the Leyland cypress is especially popular in the Southeast, according to the National Christmas Tree Association.

Most jobs take 2-8 hours, but extensive trimming may take multiple days.

A dead tree should always be cut down, because it could fall and cause injuries or damage, and it can also attract insects like carpenter ants. A tree that’s diseased beyond repair should also be cut down, but it’s not always easy for a homeowner to tell. Signs of disease include dying branches, a hollow trunk, leaning, and discolored or missing leaves, but your best bet is to hire a local arborist who can evaluate the tree and tell you if it can be saved or should be cut down.
