"The company utilized a "pull-and-replace" technique as follows: 1) excavated the water pipe at the house and at the street; cut the water line at those two places; 2) ran an 80 ft. steel cable from the street to the house; 3) attached a "pyramid-knife" to the steel cable and then attached the copper replacement pipe to the pyramid-knife. 4) tractor-pulled the pyramid-knife and copper tubing through the old poly-tube pipe, cutting it as it went and replacing it with the copper pipe in one continuous operation. 5) all excavations restored to original condition at close of the work. Process was ingenious and saved all of my trees from root damage (and potential dying in a couple of years.) No digging trenches. The technician was completely professional, competent and courteous. He explained each step as it went. He was also clearly proud of his work and finished every step with complete attention to detail, thoroughness and professionalism. The job took about six hours to complete and went off without a hitch. I am completely satisfied with the work and recommend this company highly ."

"Bill Martins Flood Crew is excellent. In December, just before Christmas, my finished rec room flooded when my sump pump failed--soaked carpet, cardboard boxes, books, furniture with sewer water. I thought I would not find anybody this time of year to help me. But I called Bill Martins from Flood Crew, and he came out right away. He looked at the basement and gave me an analysis of my damage on the spot. He was wonderful. He took care of getting detailed estimates to my insurance company and then made arrangements for me with all the needed specialists. First, I wouldn't have known where to start, and second I wouldn't have had a clue whom to call. I needed crews to remove the carpet, cut out drywall all around to dry it out, check for mold, test for asbestos, and then remove everything. And, of course, fixing the sump pump, installing flooring, putting everything back, and lots of details in between. All of this obviously can't be completed in a week or even a month. My work was not the only project that busy contractors had. My situation was far more complicated than I thought it would be. Ultimately, it took four months, which I thought was very reasonable. And the result is so beautiful--no corners cut, no putting up with mediocre results, all this for the same price and time or less than others quote. Be patient. Be flexible. "This project went very well. When our old shower was removed, the contractor discovered not only a hidden old stairway, but a leak from the floor above. Accessing it to repair was difficult, but it and a second leak were remedied and a disaster averted. Installation of the new shower was demanding, as like all old houses, ours has its quirks and odd measurements and angles. The remodeling---a new shower, removal of an old tub and installation of new cabinetry---was excellent. MJL's Mike Laudicina and every one of his helpers did meticulous work. "We contacted THS based on an advertised special of a $4999 bathroom remodel and selected them after other contractors quoted us a much higher price for a similar service.  Matt, the owner, was slow to respond at first but helpfully guided us through purchasing the needed materials once we established contact.  The work began on time and demolition took less than a day, although rebuilding moved slightly slower than I expected.  The entire project took 7 workdays total.
Pros:
Luke and Carlos, our two primary service providers, were careful and clean each day.  I was able to continue to use the master bedroom each evening without a problem.  They went above and beyond, spackling nail holes from old fixtures and the like.  Matt did the shower tiling personally and re-did it when it did not meet his standards. They installed concrete board over the subfloor to protect against water and extra studs and braces in the shower walls,  which were upgrades from the original construction.
They dealt with normal complications (slight rot in the subfloor, need to adjust plumbing and electrical to accomodate new equipment) quickly, efficiently, and at a fair price.  At one point, Matt told us that we needed to buy a shower pan, but reversed himself when we reminded him that he had previously told us that it was covered under the builiding supplies.  They worked well around my desire to paint the room over the intervening weekend.
They worked independently and did not require constant supervision, but were happy to answer questions from me and my daughter as needed.  
The final project looks fantastic and is a considerable upgrade.
Cons:
My wife perceived that they did not give her the level of courtesy or respect that they had given me when I was onsite.  They would sometimes ask her to call me for a decision on an issue rather than accepting her judgment.  This was most evident when the house main water valve broke during the project, necessitating quick work by a plumber to keep the project on track.

"We had our upstairs carpet of 30 years replaced with LVP and all of our window frames repaired/replaced/painted. David is very honest and courteous. He gave a fair price, the crew cleaned up at the end of every day in order to not disrupt our home after hours. I highly recommend this business. We were kept updated every day as to which room would be worked on the next day. Furniture was removed and put back in place after the room was completed. The workman ship is top notch. David explained that a transition piece needed to be placed between the hallway and one of the rooms due to the hallway being off by 1/2 inch when built. Very precise when ensuring everything looked top notch. Can't say enough and will definitely highly recommend!!"
