"YES HVAC scammed me out of $2,500. When I had my furnace & air conditioner replaced last year, YES failed to mention that Carrier (both my heater & AC were Carrier brands) was running a promotion that if you replaced both a furnace & an AC system with Carrier products, they would give you a cash rebate of $2,500. YES HVAC simply did not inform me of the company rebate program; instead, they just took the money from me without my knowledge. I eventually found out about the rebate later when I replaced the second full system in our house. Obviously I went with another more transparent/honest company the second go around. When I discussed the situation with YES management (even providing them with the written proof from Carrier Company of the rebate program), I still have heard nothing further from YES. My suggestion is to go with the competition rather than YES HVAC; it cost me a $2,500 rebate, what will they scam you out of?"

Our basement didn’t flood and this company tried to represent themselves as the state! I did get the job done by a certified plumber from ACE, total cost $275.00. So...Roto-Rooter upbid by $500.00 and harassed me. Don’t be this companies next mark, they are crooks!"

You can convert a gas heater to electric, but it isn’t as simple as swapping a plug or two. Standard electric water heaters (about 40 gallons) typically need a 30-amp circuit breaker. But if you have a newer model, a tankless water heater, or one that’s more energy efficient, you’ll likely need a higher amperage to power it. 

Having the right size circuit breaker for your water heater is an important part of making sure it heats water efficiently and runs safely. A licensed electrician can help you navigate your options, and determine what you need for your new water heater. 

Electric water heaters use a high amount of electricity, so they’re best for homeowners who subsidize their electric bill with solar or who live in an area with inexpensive electricity. For others, gas water heaters versus electric water heaters may be the more cost-effective solution, with the added bonus of heating water quickly and efficiently. No matter which you choose, you can lower your water temperature as low as possible to keep costs down.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, tankless water heaters are anywhere from 8% to 34% more efficient than regular water heaters. Exactly how much energy you’ll save depends on your household’s water usage. When you purchase a tankless water heater, you’ll also likely upgrade to more efficient technology than your current water heater, which can add to energy savings.
