Small jobs welcome

"I hate being condescended to. Listen to what I want and then give suggestions on how I might be able to work that out in my kitchen. Don't just tell me it can't be done. I felt like I was wasting my time. I asked about a particular type of closet (not realizing it was part of a bigger cabinet...how would I know) and she told me to follow her (using her finger to me like a child) and said I couldn't have it because it was as part of a bigger piece. She could have just said that. I said if I can't make my kitchen more "usable" (less wasted space), WHY to with custom cabinets. I could just reface. The woman behind me who was waiting to ask her a question said. Listen, if you can't get what you want, I don't blame you for not spending the money. It's easy to reface. So, I called another company and, low and behold, I'm getting partial refacing and partial custom cabinets. He came and we discussed HOW I could get my carousel cabinet (uh - he suggested I go from a double to a single sink - easy peasy) AND, he came in at half the price your website suggested I might pay. It is really nice to be listened to...especially when it's MY money I'm spending."

"Jose and his Son Jay helped me with my first house over the holidays. They painted and extended my kitchen cabinets, painted all 3 upstairs bedrooms, caulked, sealed, and painted all my baseboards that had been pulled up when new flooring had been installed, fixed a water stain, painted my accent wall and mantle, and painted most of my downstairs living areas, including the two story entryway. Everything was done to the highest level, on time, and by people who were great to work with. 10/10 recommend."

"They were very professional and we are very happy with the work that they did on our home. They removed the cupboard doors and drawers in our kitchen and dining room, took them to their shop and finished them there while they painted the rest of our living room and kitchen area. They cleaned up very well, the job looks very professional and definitely use them again. Communication was awesome and when they said they would be there 8:00 in the morning they were actually early and waited in the vehicle and we're at the door right at 8:00. The job was completed when they said it would be."

"They have a really great eye for matching colors. I took them seven cabinet doors to refinish and we worked together to match new stains to the original cabinet color. At no additional cost Mark came to my home to see the original cabinets and from that he was able to produce a great match! They are indeed perfectionists. The refinishing job was beautiful and I thought the cost was very reasonable. Their work is in demand, so scheduling took awhile but I would work with them again in a heartbeat. I HIGHLY recommend."

"For Your Rooms Only were great to work with. They were very detail oriented and addressed every concern a had during the process. They are a two “man” team so they may take a little longer than other to get the job done but the finish product is worth it. Bonus points for being genuinely nice people."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

Yes, refacing old kitchen cabinets is doable as long as the cabinet boxes are still structurally sound. Refacing works best when the framework is in good condition, allowing you to update the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces without a full replacement.

DIY refacing is possible if you're skilled in precise measurements, cutting, and finishing, but hiring professionals ensures a seamless finish and durable results.

Thermofoil cabinets are an affordable option for anyone who is trying to revamp their home on a budget. They are durable, come in many styles, and give your home a whole new look without breaking the bank. However, if you are looking for a long lifespan out of your cabinets or want to add resale value to your home, then you should consider higher-quality cabinets instead.

Not all refaced cabinets will peel, but they may if they have improperly installed veneer. To avoid peeling, hire a professional with a warranty on their work and materials, or make sure you purchase quality materials and follow all manufacturer-recommended installation instructions.

Yes, you can replace just your cabinet doors, assuming the structure of the cabinets themselves is sound. Replacing only the doors can save you money when renovating your cabinets. New cabinet doors cost $300 on average, but range from $200 to $400, depending on the material and size. Keep in mind that replacement doors made of materials like fiberboard and engineered wood are less expensive than wooden cabinet doors.
