"Guillermo did a wonderful job on the exterior of my home...painting a brick wall, all the woodwork, including the garage door, front door and deck. He was very professional, pleasant and punctual. His crew of three arrived early each morning and let me know when they were finished for the day. I will definitely use Friends Painting again"

"Vargas Painting gave us a reasonable bid. They showed up right when they said they would, despite blizzard. They did the work in one day, as promised. And, most importantly, did a beautiful job. I am so happy with Vargas Painting. I would definitely use them again."

"I was very impressed with the man from Pro Twins Painting Company. I excepted his estimate, but there are a couple of repairs we need to get done before they can actually start the painting job."

"Paint project was completed as scheduled and at a reasonable price. The paint quality is outstanding, building surface prep was great, (no paint on the brick work or any other areas), and the paint application to surfaces was really well done. I would hire them again for another future project."

"I was worried about hiring an outside company to paint and to pay 1/2 upfront. JOSE CHAVEZ assured me he was trustworthy.we shook hands. At the end of the job we hugged. He gave me an excellent job. He was careful nothing was ruined. His crew did more than what was required. I will hire Jose Chavez next time."

"Elliot was excellent to work with and does excellent work. He gave us a fair bid and did what he said he would do. He went above and beyond in our garage on patching and repair. He prides himself in doing the job right! He is pleasant to be around and pays attention to detail and knows the right products to use to get the best results. We would recommend Elliot to friends and family for interior and exterior painting services."

"Overall, the final result was an excellent paint job that we are very happy with. Along the way, we had some difficulties. Painter 1 is a franchise that subcontracts with independent painters to do the work. Unfortunately, the painters contracted to do our job were less than adequate. Fortunately, Painter 1 stood by their guarantee and made sure the work was done right. They even went above and beyond. So while initially, we were not happy with the work, they were very professional, listened to our complaints and concerns, and took care of correcting the issue in a very timely manner."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Rags used with oil-based stains are highly flammable and can spontaneously combust in the right conditions. To reduce the fire risk, throw them in a metal container after use and add rocks on top to secure them. Add an inch of water and seal the container. Take the rags in the container to a hazardous waste factory as soon as possible.

Most gutter painting pros also specialize in complete home exterior painting. You may save by making your gutter painting part of the cost to paint the exterior of a house in its entirety. Many people have all parts of their home exterior painted simultaneously to keep everything looking equally fresh. Consider having walls, trim, porches, shutters, and doors painted as well.

The easiest way to stain a fence depends on your experience and comfort level with the project. Applying stain with an airless sprayer or pump sprayer might get the stain job done faster, but it can be tricky. Paint rollers and stain brushes are slower but simpler for a DIY project.

You can use latex or acrylic paint outdoors. Although acrylic paint tends to last longer outside, it also costs more, so if you’re painting the outside of your house, for instance, latex paint is often a go-to option. However, acrylic will be your best choice if you want to spend some extra money for added durability.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.
