"Both Hunter and Carter were very professional, courteous and above all friendly. They arrived on time and began to evaluate the situation of lifting the badly sunken areas of our back patio which in certain areas was at 6? to 7? along the foundation. Hunter then proceeded to explain the whole operation involving the drilling, application of the polyurethane foam and sealing process. He did address a few areas of concern which involved the cracks where half of the concrete panel had lifted 3? to 4? higher than it?s original surface, and that it may not drop back down. After observing the beginning of the operation for a short time it was clearly evident that Hunter and Carter were true professionals and were intent on performing great quality and workmanship, which in the end will always provide and produce a great product. What they were able to do and accomplish of lifting our back patio was truly remarkable, and I cannot commend them enough for their hard work and due diligence."

"Francisco was very responsive. He answered all my questions and concerns. He understood my goals and made excellent suggestions for my two car concrete driveway project. He also seemed to be the most familiar with the local code requirements. I was prepared to go with his proposal before I even saw the quotes I'd requested. He was very realistic about the time frame for completion and communicated when plans were adjusted. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Francisco and his crew worked hard and did a great job."

Customers say: Quality work

"The concrete slabs that they put in were outstanding. However, they damaged my sprinkler system and gate. Those repairs were not good, I have had to redo all repairs they had made. The workers were personable and easy to work with, however communication of when they will be there to work and when they will return was not good. There was also an issue with cleaning up at the end of the day."

"Jay Concrete and Construction was amazing. I have worked with a lot of contractors and Jay Concrete was at the next level of professionalism and skill. The job they did was professional. They answered my questions, showed up on time and kept to a budget. The amount I paid was very reasonable. They cleaned up after themselves each of the three days they were at my place. Their employees were kind and respectful and hardworking. I have recommended them to several friends. I searched for a good concrete company but finally went with Jay Concrete because of a referral from a friend. His experience mirrored mine so I know that they have a great service oriented culture. I would hire them again. Then finished result is amazing. They are now doing work for my neighbors. Thank you Sione."

"I canâ  t adequately put into words how helpful John and his team have been for our family. Many times we have gotten their help (With concrete raising, installing toilets, putting down floors, and fixing walls), and every time we come away feeling thrilled. They are prompt, professional, kind, attentive, and above all â  very very skilled. I think I would trust them to raise my toddlers If that was something they offered! We couldnâ  t be happier with the quality of their work."

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Most houses are expected to settle over time, but foundation sinking of more than a few inches or uneven sinking of more than an inch for every 20 feet is cause for concern. Any significant or uneven sinking should be assessed by a professional to determine the cause and perform any necessary repairs.

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.
