"Louis and Payton were amazing to work with on coordinating an aggressive schedule, remaining flexible with my landscaping needs, and working hard to complete everything as efficiently as possible. I found them on Angi and plan to work with them again whenever my next need may arise."

"I was initially hesitant about getting a composite fence because I thought it would be out of my budget, but I was shocked at how affordable it actually was! This company made the whole process easy and stress-free, and the end result is fantastic. The fence looks absolutely beautiful."

"Leslie was prompt in replying to our initial request for a bid (which is a LOT more than can be said a lot of landscapers!) and setting up an initial meeting to look at the property and review what we wanted and then get it scheduled. The crew not only showed up on the appointed day, but we got a call the day before, making sure we had the neighbor's permission to step onto their property to install the concrete barrier under the fence. During the entire project, they had to work around rain, but did come when they said they would be there when weather permitted. We were very pleased with the work they did, their flexibility when we changed our minds, as well as suggestions Fred made. With changes, it was more than the original bid, but we felt the price was very reasonable! We really enjoyed working with Fred and Leslie and their crew. We plan to use them again in the future when we are ready to tackle xeriscaping our front yard! We highly recommend them."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

A chain link fence typically lasts between 15 and 20 years, but with proper maintenance, it can last for 30 years or more. To preserve the fence, it's important to keep the mesh wire tight, which can be done with a come-along tool every 6 to 12 months. Investing in a fence with a galvanized, powder-coated, or vinyl-coated finish can increase its lifespan to 20 to 30 years and reduce maintenance needs, as these coatings provide extra protection against the elements.

Regular maintenance for wire fencing includes annual inspections for rust or damage, tension adjustments every two to three years, and immediate repair of any breaks or loose sections. You should also regularly check the fence posts for stability, particularly after severe weather, and make sure to remove any vegetation growing along the fence line.

Generally, the height of your dog fence should be 3 times the distance from the ground to your dog’s shoulder. For most small breeds, a 4-foot high fence will be more than enough to keep them from jumping out. Medium-sized breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and German Shepherds will need at least a 5-6 foot fence to stay contained. Large breeds that are also excellent jumpers, such as Greyhounds, may need a 7-foot high fence.

When choosing wood for a fence, consider your budget and geographic region. The most popular and common types of wood are cedar, redwood, and pressure-treated pine. Cedar is a top choice due to its natural durability, resistance to rot and insects, and budget-friendly price. Redwood is another durable, tried-and-true option, though it is typically more expensive. Pressure-treated wood, such as pine, is also a widely used and popular alternative. These materials are readily available at most hardware stores, which makes future repairs and replacements easier. Their accessibility and long-lasting performance make them excellent choices for most fence installation projects.

In most states, it is a legal requirement to have a fence around your pool to protect both swimmers and pool owners. These laws can vary by state, city, and county, so you must research the specific regulations in your area before installation. The rules may also differ for inground versus above-ground pools, with inground pools typically requiring a full fence. Additionally, most homeowners' insurance providers will require a fence around a residential pool before providing coverage. As a general rule, it's always best to have a fence for everyone's safety.
