The technician, Trenton Brown, was able to come in and walk me through what was damaged and in need of repair and was upfront with the costs of repair and replacement. Once he was finished with the repair and replacement, he then showed me the how to process, step by step on how to use the new opener. The first place you start with any garage remodel, regardless of the project, is with repairs. You want a stable foundation to avoid problems from arising down the road. Once any necessary repairs are addressed, you’ll want to move on to layout changes, like installing new walls, running new electric, plumbing, and HVAC to the space, if required, and then finishing work.

In addition to being less expensive, nylon garage door rollers are actually much quieter than steel rollers. However, many homeowners find that they wear out prematurely compared to steel. In general, more expensive steel rollers are more durable. However, their nosiness can make them less than ideal for garages that are located beneath a home's bedrooms.

You don’t need a garage door opener unless you need or desire the convenience they offer. Winters with steep temperature drops overnight are more likely to create this problem, especially low temperatures to sustain a freeze, so weather in the lower 20s is a common culprit.
