Hello all and thank you for your interest in working with A-Train. I do all sorts of around the house handyman tasks. Some things that I have done in the past are changing/wiring electrical sockets, painting, trimming doors, installing cameras, cleaning gutters, window cleaning, furniture assembly, TV mounting, and so much more. Basically if it’s a household task I’ve probably done it. I also am a welder and have access to welding and cutting equipment. Most of my welding work has been industrial, but I can do small jobs for people who don’t have access to a welder. Some of these would be fixing metal handrails, fixing gates, hard facing lawn mower blades, tool repair, and other one person welding jobs. My goal is to serve the customer in a professional and quick time frame, for a reasonable cost. I will give free estimates, and have senior and military discounts. If there is something you need done around the house or other please send me a message and I will respond as quickly as possible. I am based in Ogden and serve everywhere from Salt Lake City to the south, to Logan in the north. If I can help you I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely, Austen Germain

"The job ended up being much more difficult than we anticipated. The handyman was great at communicating and made sure that the job was completed to our satisfaction."

"I hired Scott on August 17, 2018 to do some minor electrical, plumbing and some sheet rock repair in preparation for some kitchen cabinets being installed. I made it clear that the time to complete the project was very important because the cabinets had already been purchased and were waiting at Lowes for installation. He assured me that he could complete the job in just a few days and asked for a deposit of $300.00 to start. I wrote the check and asked him to start asap. (the check was cashed that same afternoon). He said he would like to get an early start, and we agreed that he would be at my house the next morning at 8:00am (the whole household had to get up early to accommodate this schedule) He never showed up until about 9:15 am. He said he had to take his daughter to work. He only worked until 10:15 am and then had to leave for the day. He said that he could not return until Tuesday morning because he had prior commitments. I texted him Monday night just to make sure he would be there on Tuesday. He indicated that he would be there at 8:30 am. He showed up at 9:15 am and worked for about 45 mins and left. He told me that he had to take one of his children to the Instacare. And then he had to go to Park City for something and asked if he could stop by on his way back around 9pm, just to go over what I wanted. (I had already giving him plans for the whole job). At 9pm he texted me and said something came up in Park City and he was just leaving. He still had to pick up his wife in Salt Lake City and then he would be at my house. That was at least 1 ½ hours of travel time. I told him it would be too late. He promised he would have the whole day Wednesday and would be at my house by 10am. He texted me on Wednesday at noon and said he was on his way. I called him at 1:30 wondering where he was AGAIN and left a message (he never answers his phone). He texted back again saying he was on his way. He got to my house about 2:00 and finally worked for a few hours (till 5:30). He texted me at 2:00 saying he was up at the University and was on his way to me. An hour later he texted again saying his car was over heating…… got to my house at almost 5pm. I sent him away. I guess he gets to keep the $300 dollars I gave him….. He had worked a total of maybe 5-6 hours. (Only really did about 1 ½ hours’ worth of work). My son had to redo most of what he did because it was not done right. By this time my son had taken the 1 ½ days off and had finished the whole project."

To move a couch, you can partially disassemble it by detaching the legs, sectional pieces, or back from the rest of the couch. If available, follow the manufacturer’s instructions, which will clearly outline what parts of the couch can be taken apart.

Professionals conduct lamp repair by diagnosing the issue, addressing electrical problems, replacing damaged parts, rewiring if needed, and testing to ensure safe operation.

If you’re looking for a reputable furniture repair company, the best-case scenario is getting a referral from a trusted friend or family member. However, you can also ask local furniture repair companies about the following points to determine their experience and quality of work:

  • Warranty for structural repairs

  • Positive online reviews and Better Business Bureau (BBB) ratings

  • Number of years of experience

  • Specific expertise with fixing your type of furniture

  • Ability to carry out on-site repairs to avoid damage during relocation

Replacing exact duplicates of existing drawer slides is usually a simple task that requires replacing the old one with new pieces in the same location and configuration. Replacing old slides with new models is also relatively easy with patience. However, changing entire cabinet layouts can get tricky and requires some know-how to complete the task.

Signs your chair frame may need repairs include wobbling, creaking, visible cracks, or loose joints. A professional upholsterer will inspect the frame during the prep stage and recommend necessary repairs, which may add to the overall cost but ensure a longer-lasting result. Your upholsterer may be able to repair your frame for you, or they may refer you to a furniture repair specialist, depending on your chair’s needs.
