"Kolton did a great job and most impressive was the way he cleaned up and replaces the sod. It looked and work great. They are a young company and are a little under equipped with supplies and equipment, but that will come with time. They will also learn the importance of accurate scheduling predictions. Overall it was a very positive experience and Kolton was very pleasant to work with. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to others."

"I had winter spring come to my house did not know how many problems I had! They tackled them all, it was a big job! I was so pleased with there work! They were at my house all day, replacing sprinklers, 2 broken pipes had to reroutes some sprinkler's! They were at my house all day! So pleased with them! Great guys! Soaking grass seeds in water before seeding is called pre-germinating. It’s not necessary but can be very helpful in some cases. Some grasses like are very slow to germinate, and basic seeding on the ground is unlikely to be effective—that’s especially true of cool season grasses like Kentucky bluegrass, rye grasses, and Bermuda grass. Soaking these seeds in a bag or bin of water for one to four days beforehand can give the grass the start it needs to survive.

Morning and late afternoon are the best times for watering new grass seed. The seed gets a healthy balance of water and sunlight, and the excess water evaporates. While it’s possible to grow grass seeds by throwing them down, this isn’t the best way to plant them. By amending and prepping the soil beforehand, you’re providing optimal contact between seed and soil for a better chance at germination. If you throw them down without preparing the soil beforehand, seeds are more likely to blow away, get eaten by hungry birds, or never grow.

This depends on the type of grass seed, as some types do better in different environmental conditions. Cool-season grasses go dormant during the summer months when the soil temperature exceeds 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Once exposed to regular doses of heat, the germination rates decline, with seedling death not far behind. 

As for warm-season seeds, they come from tropical parts of the world and thrive in heat. They actively grow in warm air temperatures between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and they prefer soil temperatures between 65 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Once temperatures dip and frost rolls in, if you don’t store them properly, warm-season grass seeds will die quickly.

Slit seeding takes about two to three hours for a medium or large lawn. Even bigger lawns or commercial properties can be seeded in about one day. From there, it will take about two weeks for the grass to start growing and another six weeks for the grass to establish stronger roots.
