"We had an overgrown tree that was damaging our fence, along with several other trees that needed removal. I received the quote on Tuesday and they came on Wednesday and had the entire job completed before noon, including a 30 foot tree, large pine tree, I don't even know how many quakies, grinding down the stumps AND hauling everything off. Great communication, nice guys. We'll use them again for future projects."

"Victor was fantastic to work with. Would definitely hire again. He did some flooring for us and when we had some issues with a different part he came out and fixed it, no problems. I highly recommend. -Magna, UT homeowner"

"I cannot say enough good things about this company! They transformed my yard with beautiful flowers, bushes, and fresh mulch, and the results exceeded my expectations. Every detail was done with care, and my entire yard looks absolutely amazing. The owner, Carey, is one of the kindest, most honest, and hard-worker I have had the pleasure of doing business with. He does exactly what he says he will do, keeps his word, and takes great pride in his work. Those qualities are becoming harder to find, and they made this experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for someone who is dependable, trustworthy, and truly cares about doing an outstanding job, I highly recommend this company. I am beyond pleased with the results and would not hesitate to hire them again. Thank you for making my yard so beautiful!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Licensing requirements for arborists, also known as tree surgeons, vary by state and municipality. Many areas require a license, which often involves specialized education and experience. Even if not mandated, it's wise to hire a licensed professional as they tend to have more experience. Beyond licensing, look for certifications from organizations like the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) or the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), as this indicates a higher level of expertise. Certified arborists must typically pass a comprehensive exam. Always confirm that the arborist has a business license and is fully insured to protect yourself from liability. Seeking positive recommendations from local homeowners is also a good step in finding a qualified professional.

In most cases, leaving tree roots underground is not a problem if the stump has been removed or ground below the soil. However, some larger roots may decompose, leaving dents in your soil. Additionally, some aggressive trees, including willows, oaks, elms, maples, and poplars may grow back from roots. Large aggressive trees with established root systems are more likely to grow back.

Palm trees aren’t much different than your typical tree removal. Removing a palm tree is a standard procedure as long as pros have the proper tools and supplies. For DIYers, however, there are some risks associated with palm tree removal. Palm trees have spiky fronds, bark, and patches of hefty wood. So, it’s best to let an experienced tree service pro remove a palm tree.

Once you confirm a tree is dead, you should remove it. Dead trees eventually fall, and larger trees in particular can cause damage to rooftops, fencing, flowers, and other objects. As we mentioned, letting decayed wood stay in your yard also invites risks to the surrounding landscaping and vegetation.

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.
