It all started with a trip to the Azores of Portugal. RTA's co-founder went there to meet his wife's family And had his first encounter with an outdoor kitchen. The charm of that kitchen went far beyond providing meals. It served as an inviting gathering space, and offered moments to break bread together.\n\nThe inspiration from that outdoor kitchen was bottled up and shipped back to the US. Unfortunately, there was a lack of accessible options in America in the early 2010's. Someone needed to rethink the conventional approach of construction. Thus began the journey, with a goal of remastering the outdoor kitchen.

"We had a serious issue with rain runoff settling our soil at our foundation. Joe and his crew were incredible!!! He replied immediately and came out the same day to bid. His assessment was spot on, very affordable for all they had to do, and they remedied our issue quickly and even impressed our builder Rep, who said how to fix it. Joe went above and beyond to make it so we’ll never have issues again!!! I can’t recommend Joe enough and honestly, I very rarely do online reviews, but with Joe, I just had to. Yes, he is that good,,,,TRUST ME. ?"

"My experience with Timeless Pools was exceptional. I needed a complete refresh of my 40 year old pool and equipment. Tom and Cindy were great to work with, helped me pick materials for the coping, pebble tech, and tile, as well as pavers for the deck. Although I kept the same shape as my original pool, Tom designed a beautiful Baja shelf with umbrella holes and recommended bringing up the deep end from 9’ to 6’ (less water, less chemicals and less pool pump time). The new lighting design adds so much ambiance to the back yard at night. They did a great job answering my questions, keeping me informed every step of the way, always giving attention to the smallest details. It is very refreshing to work with people that are responsive, professional, and most importantly honest. My pool renovation was completed on schedule and they did an outstanding job! I can't say enough about this company other than I recommend them very highly!"

"I requested an estimate earlier in the week to trim up a broken set of branches that fell over my fence line. I got a callback very quickly to set a time/date for an estimate. They were able to fit me in the schedule the next morning and after giving me the estimated cost we scheduled the work for the following day. The process was quick and efficient; which was greatly appreciated for my situation. They showed up on time and got started pretty quickly. The group was professional and efficient. Nothing was damaged and it only took a couple hours to complete. Overall, very satisfied with the work that was done. It was fairly priced and I will keep them in mind for future projects. Thanks guys!"

"I recommend Monumeilangi Construction & Lanscaping. Monu and co. raised an existing flagstone path to my home, added sod, and planted bushes and trees. I am pleased with the result of their work. Monu negotiated an affordable price, he is responsive to communication, and his staff work hard."

The average cost of an outdoor kitchen is around $15,500. However, since outdoor kitchens are highly customizable, you could spend anywhere from $5,000 to over $50,000 for your setup. Some important factors that can affect your pricing include the size of the kitchen, the materials you use—specifically for the countertop—the type of grill you want, and any add-on products you want coupled with your installation.
No, even if you have a vague idea of what you want, it’s a good idea to reach out to a contractor that specializes in outdoor kitchens for assistance. Professionals who have constructed kitchens for other homeowners can not only help you think about the functionality and convenience of your outdoor space—which many homeowners neglect—but they can also help you choose high-quality, durable materials that meet your budget and match the rest of your outdoor space. In fact, it’s often better to contact a contractor and get the ball rolling before you have a solidified plan for your outdoor kitchen.
Yes, outdoor kitchens usually deliver around a 50% ROI in terms of home value. This is lower than some home improvement projects, but combined with the utility you enjoy yourself, most homeowners find it well worth the investment. The specific bump in property value you’ll see from your outdoor kitchen depends on the size and quality, as well as how much usable yard space it takes up.
In many cases, you will not need permits to install an outdoor kitchen because it’s not usually considered a permanent structure and doesn’t require a foundation. If you run natural gas lines to a grill, plumbing lines to an outdoor sink, or electrical lines for lighting and power, your contractor will likely need to pull permits.
However, every municipality is different, so you should defer to a professional outdoor kitchen contractor to confirm which portions of your outdoor kitchen project require building permits.
