"I had two room additions added. Victor and his crew came in and tore out work that had been done incorrectly and left unfinished. They tore out the poorly installed drywall and insulation, installed new insulation, fixed some stubs, installed new drywall, textured, reinstalled 3 doors, installed exterior siding, replaced windows with siding and brick, ground down uneven flooring, installed trim and baseboards, painted interior and exterior, installed gutters, painted concrete floors. They did a great job. This is my third time partnering with Victor on a project and he always comes through."

"I highly recommend The Patch Boys of North Texas. They were quick to respond and come look at my drywall needs. Both Garrett & Jonathan were on time, pleasant, explained what they were doing and cleaned up when the jobs were completed. Will definitely contact this company again for my drywall needs."

"Very polite and quick! Charles did a great job! He kept communication open and checked in the night before to confirm the time we had set and showed up on time. He replaced the section of wall missing in our bathroom and textured the wall to match the rest. He even offered to paint the wall to match. We highly recommend DFW Complete Handyman Service for projects."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Whether you need a drywall anchor depends on the specifics of your project, particularly what you're hanging and where. You do not need a drywall anchor if you can screw or nail the object directly into a wooden stud, as the wood provides sufficient support and stability. However, if there are no studs in the location where you plan to hang the item, you should use drywall anchors to ensure it is securely supported. For very lightweight objects, like small pictures, adhesive picture hanging strips can be a suitable alternative to anchors.

Whether Venetian plaster increases your home's value often depends on the buyer's preference. As a purely aesthetic upgrade, it doesn't add structural value in the same way a kitchen or bathroom remodel might. However, its beautiful and attractive appearance can make a home more appealing to potential buyers, possibly leading to more interest, higher offers, and increased competition when you sell.

If your premixed drywall mud is dried out or has begun to set in the bucket, you may be able to revive it by adding warm water and stirring. However, the first and most important step is to scrape off any hard, dried bits of drywall that may have accumulated toward the top of the container and throw them away because they will not easily reconstitute back into the drywall mud mix.

Professionals mount TVs using specialized tools and knowledge of different wall materials, ensuring safe support.

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.
