"I had all of my old toilets replaced with new water-efficient models by Kohler, and I couldn?t be happier with the service! From the first call to the final installation, the plumber was prompt, professional, and courteous. They helped me choose the right models for my home, completed the job quickly, and left everything clean and tidy. The new toilets work great and are already making a difference in water usage. I highly recommend 100% Plumbing Houston for anyone looking for quality plumbing work and eco-friendly upgrades!"

"Iâ ve used Joe at Pipers Plumbing for a previous issue with my tankless hot water system. Joe brought my system up to code and added the items needed to do so. We are finishing up a complete remodel of our 2nd floor (which the contractor used his own plumber) we ran into what was originally thought to be a major problem. Our sink, toilet shower and one of the outside hoses ran nothing but HOT water! After spending 30 mins or so trying to figure things out we started discussing where we were going to have to cut in the ceiling of first floor to get access to where we thought the water lines were crossed. (I had many pics and videos of remodel) Joe thought of something. 10 mins later everything was fine and disaster was avoided. The stem in the shower valve wasnâ t installed by previous plumber and it was allowing hot water to feed into the lines. Saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars in work. Then, when I asked what I owed him he said nothing.. $0.. Told me he was glad to help and glad that we were able to fix the issue. When I tried to pay him $100 he continued to turn down the money and told me to consider it my â Veteran Discount â and thanked me for my service in the Marine Corps! Awesome company!"

"Heaton Plumbing responded to my emergency and saved the day! I was in the process of repairing my toilet myself. The flange that the toilet is mounted on had broken and I was in the process of replacing it, when I accidently dropped the screwdriver straight down the open sewer line! I called Heaton because I saw that they use a video camera to inspect sewer lines They sent out a crew, that did NOT have the proper camera but they did have a very short, stiff camera that they used to try to locate the screwdriver. The crew told me that they "guessed" the screwdriver had made it all the way down the line and advised me to just put it all back together. I was in a hurry and I ended up just re-installing the toilet (against my better judgment). I ended up talking to the owner Mr. Heaton and told him that I was dis-satisfied with the service. He apologized and offered to refund the service fee which I thought was a nice gesture, but I told him that was not necessary since the crew did attempt to use their small camera. Sure enough, around midnight all of the toilets in the house were stopped up and it was clear that the screwdriver was still in the line! I called Mr. Heaton on his personal cell phone and asked if he could get a crew out to my house first thing to retrieve the screwdriver. Around 8:45 this morning Nathan and Jimme from Heaton Plumbing showed up. I once again explained the problem to them. The had a very sophisticated video camera with them. They ran it through from the "clean out" connection in my yard and sure enough the screw driver was approximately 12" from the clean out. Nathan pulled the screwdriver out with no problem. I then told Nathan that I had been having a recurring problem over the years with having stoppages in the toilet that required the use of a plunger to clear. He ran the video camera about 120' down the sewer line towards the city connection and lo and behold he found the source of my problem! The concrete city sewer pipe has a very jagged break right where my pipe comes into it. Of course, debris collects on the concrete until it stops up my service line. Nathan and Jimmie were able to give me a video recording (including audio narrative) that I can now send to the city of Pasadena and get them to fix the problem since it is on the city connection. It is not often that you run into a company that sincerely wants to satisfy their customers. My hat is off to Mr. Heaton, Nathan and Jimmie for going above and beyond in my time of need.

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common installation method that can simplify plumbing and save space. However, there are important considerations. The vent and associated plumbing must be large enough to handle the demands of all fixtures without compromising the vent's effectiveness. Additionally, the toilet should always be located downstream of all other fixtures. Because requirements can vary and space might be limited, it is essential to check your local building and plumbing codes and consult with a qualified plumber to ensure the installation is done correctly.

Left unattended, a leaking toilet will eventually cause water damage or mold growth. If you’re a homeowner, you can file an insurance claim for water damage. However, that can be a long and tedious process; sometimes, your insurance company may not cover the damage. Therefore, it’s always best to fix any leak you notice right away if you can.

Most codes require 15 inches on either side of the toilet's centerline (from the wall or vanity) and at least 21 to 24 inches between the toilet and the wall in front of it. These codes ensure that your toilet is easy to use and access, even in small bathrooms. Check your local building codes for the exact measurements required.

The main causes for a leaky toilet flapper include wear and tear or a broken or incorrectly installed toilet flapper chain. If your toilet flapper is torn or deteriorated, it can’t provide a proper seal to keep water from running. Meanwhile, a chain that has come loose, was moved, or just wasn’t installed right can prevent your flapper from fully closing.

It is safe to flush the toilet even if the pipes are frozen, and this may even help clear out the pipes. But if the supply line is frozen, the toilet won’t refill itself until it’s thawed out. You can still flush by pouring water into the tank to refill it.
