"Pablo and crew were extremely professional with the removal of the existing concrete and the design and installation of pavers for the new patio. He also added pavers to the front yard by creating a new walkway and entrance into our home. He created a walled hardscape in the backyard and the along the front flower beds. We had some reservations about removing the grass from our backyard and replacing it with artificial grass but the results have been great and we have received several positive comments from our visitors. We would highly recommend PR Landscaping to anyone interested in hiring Pablo and his crew to make your landscaping dreams come true. Pablo is attentive to his customers suggestions and is very detailed oriented. Great job Pablo."

Pavers and Hardscaping questions, answered by experts

If installed correctly, interlocking pavers can last up to 50 years. The lifetime of your paver patio greatly depends on one thing: its foundation. If you rush through this step or cheap out on materials, your patio’s lifetime will be significantly cut short. Hire a pro if you’re not 100% sure you can pull this off.

Yes, repaving a driveway increases a home’s value, but the extent to which it increases depends on the materials, design, and overall market conditions in your area. Additionally, if your existing driveway is already in good condition, then repaving it won’t yield as much of a value increase as it would if your existing driveway is in poor condition.

The best material to put between pavers is polymeric sand. This sand contains silica and quartz, making it more durable than coarse or regular sand. It hardens after installation, so your pavers stay in place. Best of all, polymeric sand prevents weed growth in the gaps between pavers. You’ll have less maintenance to deal with once spring rolls around.

Concrete is often the default material for a driveway apron, and many local building codes may require this. If you’re not restricted to concrete, however, you can consider alternative driveway apron ideas, such as asphalt, pavers, or gravel. You can also stamp the concrete for an interesting texture, add color to the concrete for a little extra character, or add a swirled trowel finish to your concrete driveway apron.

Yes, you should lightly wet the sand with a hose before laying the pavers on top. This activates the bonding agents in the sand, ensuring that your pavers don’t shift around during the installation process. However, you should make sure that the sand is not soaked; overwatering can cause the sand and pavers to not set properly.
