Kyle and his team are fantastic. We bought a new house and needed to get landscaping done. Kyle was responsive, easy to work with, gave great advice and adjusted the plan to fit our budget. They did a fantastic job installing the plants, irrigation system and French drain for a reasonable price. Further, Kyle does business with honesty and integrity. After Uri a number of our plants were damaged. I asked Kyle to come out to let me know what was dead and needed to be replaced. He told us to wait several weeks to see what recovers rather than trying to sell us a bunch of replacement plants. Wish other service providers did business like Kyle and Set Roots. Highly recommended and would absolutely work with them again.

Kyle was the first landscaper to come out for a quote and gave us a very honest assessment of our property, and let us know that what we really needed done was well out of our budget at the time. After speaking with other landscapers, it became clear that Kyle had our best interest in mind and wanted us to get the most out of any work he did for us. The job ended up being a complete demo, regrading, and irrigation of the backyard, along with a new patio and sod work. We were very pleased with the quality of work, and Kyle was always in contact with us about any issues/decisions that came up. We will be going back to Set Roots for any more work that we need.

From the beginning Kyle was a professional. He was helpful and creative in designing a landscape that would fit our backyard and style. Kyle is also very responsive and his team does quick, but quality work. I would definitely seek Set Roots’ services again in the future.

Project went smoothly. They finished in the time frame they told me they would. They did a great job and even did some extra work of removing a cinder Block flower bed we didn’t want for no extra charge and even put grass in that space when it wasn’t in the original project scope. I could not speak more highly of this company. Kyle was the project manager and he was excellent at communicating to me what he recommended we do, even if we weren’t going with them, and he always returned my calls or texts promptly. I high recommend them for any landscaping job you are considering.

It went very well, his workers were professional, hard working and neat and always cleaned up after themselves. The project was delayed by Hurricane Harvey but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they were able to return and complete the project once the roads were open again.

From the start, Kyle was very responsive and professional. He made an effort to get me a bid quickly. He even gave me tips about how to assess/compare bids. His initial bid was higher than what I was able to pay, but he worked with my budget and delivered a great product. I do not have an eye for gardening and so I turned the design completely over to him - he made great choices and the final product looks tailored and clean. I told him I wanted low maintenance, hardy plants and it seems he really delivered on that. Previously, our yard was a real eye-sore and now it looks fantastic - I am getting so many complements! After the installation, Kyle came back to explain the care requirements, He offered to come back as needed to prune/mulch/fertilize but did not insist on a maintenance contract, So far, this has been a great experience and I will definitely keep in touch and plan to hire for other projects. He is smart, professional, easy to communicate with and no nonsense!

From the beginning, Kyle was very responsive and willing to work with me on options. We ended up deciding to install artificial turf and some flower beds and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Even after the job was completed, he came back by to program my sprinkler system and adjust the sprinkler heads. I couldn't be happier with the results and haven received many compliments from people walking by.

Kyle's crew did and excellent job. Cleared the yard out, installed the landscaping. Even cleared out some dead trees. I had them back for a small add on job of improving the driveway. Very punctual, professional, and reasonable. I now have them doing regular maintenance to keep their nice work up.

Kyle and his crew were wonderful, start to finish. Kyle met with us to give us an estimate initially, and really helped us to envision what we wanted. He kept in very good communication with us before and during the job. His team were great - they did so much work in three days, and were always professional, courteous, and did excellent work. I highly recommend them.

Kyle, owners of Roots, came out for a consultation, promptly after my first inquiry. He talked through the various options, and had some really creative ideas for how to make the most of the small space. Later that day, he sent me a proposal, with a full breakdown of costs. Once I decided to go ahead with the project, Kyle came back out to make some exact measurements of the space. After finalizing the proposal, we scheduled a day the next week for the work to be carried out. The work was completed on time and to a very high standard. Kyle also made a point of explaining to me some specifics of what was being done and why, which left me feeling knowledgeable about the ins and outs of caring for the yard, and what to expect in the future. Throughout the whole experience, Kyle was courteous, informative, and extremely responsive to communications.

Kyle, the owner of the of the company, came out to give a free quote and landscape ideas. His work crew was very professional and worked steady everyday. The project took about five days and Kyle came out to check on them and brought supplies as they needed. We received two quotes and Kyles quote was more competitive and we felt that he was very personable and cared about the quality of work. We recommend Set Roots and would definite use them again.

Kyle McLaughlin met with us and listened to both of our hopes and concerns for the landscaping. Kyle's suggestions were perfect! We love the new shape of the flower beds, the stone edging, the plants he suggested and how he layed them out. We also really like the flagstone / granite gravel pathways on either side of the house. Amazingly, Kyle came up with a plan that addressed our concerns and gave us both what we wanted. Kyle and his crew are punctual, responsive and very easy to work with. Great job - truly we couldn't be happier! They also adjusted all of the irrigation system and even stopped by late on a Friday afternoon after finishing another job to fix our irrigation system with no notice. Not only are we thrilled, but several neighbors have stopped by to say how terrific our yard looks.

Cameron helped us design a simple but beautiful patio with pavers, tropical plants, and a water feature too. He took care of setting up an irrigation system for the plants, electricity as needed to keep the fountain flowing, and he also strung some lights up above the yard which creates a wonderful ambience in the evenings. Thank you to Cameron and crew for their professionalism, not only in the design stage, but the installation phase as well. The yard is lovely and it is just what we wanted!

My front yard had zero landscaping.  I don't like high maintenance plants or working in flowerbeds, so I told Cameron (the owner) my requirements, i.e., nothing that grows too high or requires frequent trimming, low maintenance, hardy plants that can survive when ignored, a variation of green colors, at least one palm, and light-colored rocks for a border.  Then I left town for several days.  When I returned, Cameron had done the work and he chose all the plants that met my requirements.  It looks amazing!  Cameron's estimate was the only reasonable one within my budget.  I'm glad I used Set Roots LLC and I highly recommend them.

I was very happy by the intial conversations with the provider.  The owner is very personable.   In terms of the service, particularly the quality of the service, I have been disappointed. First I was promised that all of the sod would be removed from the backyard but what I observed was some of it being removed while other parts, the old grass was cut short and covered by top soil.  I did call the owner and spoke the foreman and they told me that we would remove all old sod. Secondly we discussed making sure that they level so the water flows to the middle or away from the house.  Once it was completed, they have covered the drain with sod and the backyard was uneven. Areas where I mentioned that it would need to be built were not. I called the owner and he inspected and said that it need to be fixed. The only thing that I observed was that they cut the sod away from the drain.   The backyard is still up and down so water will gather in the low areas and not flow away from the house.

Secondly, I had to complete the bamboo removal. I understand that it is difficult to get everything but I spent 4 hours completely a job. I sent the owner a picture and said that I was disappointed with this and have not heard anything back.   Overall, I think the project was rushed.  I thought the price was very fair but the quality of work was poor and I would not use this service again unfortunately.

I wanted to get the landscaping cleaned up as we had some overgrowth. Cameron gave great suggestions for improving our landscaping as I wasn't entirely sure how to handle a tree and a large plant that interfered with each other. I thought maybe trimming, but removing one was definitely the best way to go and the rear yard looks much better as a result. I am quite happy with the job he and his crew performed that I wouldn't hesitate to call him for the next project in the future.

Easy to communicate with them, scheduling service was a breeze. Haven't had to give the yard a second thought since hiring them.
