"The door that I purchased was a little bit smaller than the old door and I was concerned it wouldnâ t fit but Manny made the necessary adjustments to make it work. Thanks Manny, the only thing that has me concerned is the storm door lock, he had to add pieces to get it to lock, eventually that piece or the storm door will have to be replaced, as Manny and I discussed before he left. Overall, itâ s completed and I no longer have to worry about it."

"These guys were excellent. We had some siding that had broken off the house, probably due to a squirrel. They were able to complete the work the same day, the quote was very reasonable, perfect color match and the results were great. We'll be calling them again for more projects."

Doors questions, answered by experts

New homeowners in Temple should prioritize upgrading entry door locks and deadbolts for enhanced security. Replacing worn weatherstripping helps manage drafts and energy loss. Inspecting and servicing garage doors ensures reliable operation, while adding storm or screen doors can improve ventilation and comfort. Consider energy-efficient door installation to better handle TX heat and reduce cooling demands throughout the year.

Helpful?

In Temple, homeowners often underestimate how local humidity and shifting clay soil affect door installation. Skipping acclimation time for new doors, using wood not rated for TX climates, or neglecting to reinforce entry doors against expansion can cause issues. Failing to check for proper alignment as foundations settle, or overlooking high-quality weatherstripping, frequently leads to drafts, sticking doors, or premature wear.

Helpful?

Homes in Temple built before 1990 or with original entry doors often benefit from upgrades. If you notice drafts, uneven door alignment from foundation settling, or frequent sticking, your home likely needs attention. High cooling bills and visible wear on frames are also indicators. Before starting, check if your neighborhood’s HOA has specific requirements for door installation or style to ensure compliance.

Helpful?

In Temple, signs that door service work may need redone include doors that stick or drag due to soil movement, visible gaps or daylight around frames, and swelling from humidity. Water stains near thresholds after storms, loose or rusted hardware, and increased energy bills point to poor weatherproofing or installation. Entry doors that no longer latch securely are also a clear indicator of underlying issues.

Helpful?

For Temple homes, fiberglass entry doors are excellent for resisting humidity and temperature extremes. Steel doors with insulated cores provide security and energy efficiency, while composite materials help prevent warping. Choose stainless steel or brass hardware to avoid corrosion, and use silicone or EPDM weatherstripping for lasting protection. Energy-efficient, UV-resistant finishes are ideal for withstanding TX sun and reducing long-term maintenance.
