"Steve the owner and sales man was awesome. He gave me specific advice and explained the options to me. They handled everything. Including communication with the insurance which was very helpful. The crews worked hard and fast even during a super hot summer on top of my tall and pitched roof. The crew were very professional. They did a fee little extras like fixing some molding. They were on time and cleaned up after they were done. I am super happy with the entire experience."

"I?ve had a great experience working with this roofing company and would highly recommend them. Their customer service was excellent?quick, responsive, and always helpful. They were also incredibly helpful when I was working through the insurance process and made that part much easier to navigate. Their pricing was fair and transparent, and I really appreciated their honest approach. They did quality work, were dependable, and followed through on what they said they would do. One of the things I appreciated most was their flexibility?they were able to accommodate me even when I needed help last minute. It?s not always easy to find a roofing company you can truly trust, but I?ve found them to be honest, reliable, and easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing roofing services."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

There is a weight limit for walking on a roof, but it’s determined by your roof structure and not the roofing material, at least in the case of a metal roof. Consider that entire teams of roofers will be on top of your home during the installation, so the weight of a single person won’t compromise your roof. That isn’t the case for something like a tile roof, so a high weight limit is one benefit of a metal roof.

Roofing estimates vary for many reasons, but the most significant ones include differences in the cost of labor based on the contractor’s experience and overhead costs, as well as the quality of the materials your roofer will use for the job. You should get your estimates itemized and make sure your contractors include details about the materials they plan on using. Doing so allows you to compare not only based on the cost but also the value that you’ll get for your money.

While the terms are often used interchangeably, wood shakes and wood shingles have notable differences, primarily in their manufacturing and appearance. Wood shingles are machine-cut on both sides, resulting in a smooth, thin, and uniform product. In contrast, wood shakes are typically hand-split or sawed on only one side, giving them a more textured, natural, and rustic appearance. Due to these manufacturing differences, shakes are generally thicker, heavier, and less uniform than shingles. They are also more expensive. Homeowners seeking a more rustic aesthetic often choose shakes, while those preferring a more uniform look may opt for shingles. Both are installed in an overlapping pattern to create a durable, weather-resistant roof.

Roof blistering and hail damage are different in their physical appearance. Blistering, often caused by inadequate ventilation, low-quality material, and improper installation, looks like large, irregular bubbles popping out of your roof. Meanwhile, hail damage is usually circular or oval dents entering your roof and often follows the same path as the hail storm.

16-gauge galvanized steel staples with a minimum crown of 15/16 inches or 24 millimeters are occasionally used to install shingles. However, most shingle manufacturers or residential building codes don’t recommend staples as a roofing fastener. Roofing nails are preferred in most cases, especially in areas that get a lot of heavy wind.
