"Austin came out and did an inspection. Did a really thorough job especially when it came to explaining things to me. The crew is coming back to do a roof tune sup and should definitely be hiring them for any future roofing needs."

"This company did a fantastic job on my roof and gutters. Mat was very communicative and went through all the steps with me prior to and during the replacement of my roof. The job was completed in a day and looks great. The shingles are a good quality and are eligible to give some people a discounted rate with their insurance company. 5-star company."

"Sonny and his crew were there early in the morning as they said and completed the job in a very timely manner. Their quality was still good even at the fast pace they went. They kept the work area clean and made sure to pick up after themselves. Will definitely reach out to StillCreek when other projects are needed."

"We’re currently remodeling two bathrooms under the same contract. The first bathroom is complete, and the second one just started this week. While their bid wasn’t the lowest we received, it felt fair and, in hindsight, definitely worth it. The project manager was an excellent communicator—knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and never pressured us to accept the offer. We’re extremely pleased with the quality of work on the first bathroom and are confident the second will turn out just as well. A tip for future clients: make sure you have all the necessary materials on hand. We did, and the team completed the bathroom ahead of schedule. The space is narrow, so the photo angles don’t do it justice, but I hope they still give a sense of the high-quality work delivered."

"Very PLEASED with the completed job, the workers were here for l long day and finished roofs on a house and a shed also on the property. The Project Mgr. Jack J did an excellent job in explaining each and every detail involved in this project, Field Supervisor Juan Z stayed with the crew all day until they left @ 8pm. Sheetrock specialist Frank came the next day and cleaned up two light fixtures damaged from leaks in the roof. The room is considerably bright again. Overall i give this company the absolute best rating possible! Linda B Shepherd, TX"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The best way to know if your roof can support solar panels is to hire a structural engineer. They’ll look at your roof and approve the design of your solar panel system or suggest changes. The best roofing for solar panels is made from strong materials like asphalt shingles and metal, but tile and gravel will work. Softer materials like thatch or temporary structures are not a good fit.

The least suitable roof for solar panels is a wood shake roof. An electrical mishap with your solar panels could start a fire on the roof, so some areas don’t allow solar panels on wood roofs. You don’t have to let a wood roof stop you from going solar. You can replace your wood shakes with shingles. Installing the panels on the ground is another option.

Yes, shingles should overhang the drip edge, typically between 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch. An overhang shorter than 1/2-inch can allow wind-driven rain to get under the shingles and damage the roof deck or fascia. Conversely, an overhang longer than 3/4-inch increases the risk of shingles getting caught by strong winds, which can lead to roof uplift. Always check your local building code for exact overhang requirements in your area.

Properly installed chimney flashing can last anywhere from 15 to 50 years. However, flashing generally only needs to be replaced when it is damaged, corroded, or no longer creates a watertight seal. Several factors influence its longevity, including the material type, quality of installation, and local climate. For example, copper flashing tends to last longer than galvanized steel. Large storms and extreme weather can also damage flashing, potentially requiring earlier replacement. To ensure its longevity, it is recommended to have your chimney and roof inspected annually. A professional can assess the flashing's condition and recommend any necessary repairs.

Hail is unlikely to damage a tar and gravel roof because the hailstones will hit the protective gravel rather than your delicate roof membrane. A tar and gravel roof is the most resilient flat roof option, which means it’s the best one for areas that see hail, fallen tree debris, and blown debris from intense winds.
