"The crew showed up every morning on time. They patched/drywalled and textured numerous small areas. The texturing was so good, that it is almost impossible to detect where the repairs where made. They also framed, drywalled and textured the kitchen area for recessed lighting installation. They repaired an area where there was a shower leak. They replaced the drywall and textured an area where a closet had been removed. On every part of the project, they exhibited superior workmanship. And at the end of every day, they cleaned up after themselves. Hire them again? Definitely yes!

"They worked steadily each day and did a very, very good job.  I have  seen drywall work done on other sites, but none compares to the quality of their work.  They were very easy to communicate with and explained in detail what they were doing......This is a 2700 sq. ft. home and I am so glad that I used  Mudslingers Drywall........I highly recommend them in terms of reasonable costs and quality of work.  You will be glad you called them."

"We recently had the pleasure of hiring Bonito Painting for our home renovation project, which included drywall installation, tape and floating, texture and custom multi-color painting. From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The team led Rick was the epitome of professionalism. Right from the initial consultation, they demonstrated an exceptional level of expertise and commitment to quality. They listened attentively to our ideas and provided valuable suggestions to enhance the outcome, showing a deep understanding of our vision for the space. What truly set Bonito painting apart was their politeness and trustworthiness. Itâ s rare to find contractors who not only excel at their craft but also make the entire process smooth and worry-free for homeowners. They respected our home as if it were their own, maintaining a clean and organized work area throughout the project. As for the custom multi-color painting, it was nothing short of spectacular. Drywall questions, answered by experts

There are six levels of drywall finish, from 0 to 5, that refer to the amount of work performed during the finishing process.

Level 0: Drywall is hung with no finishing work.

Level 1: Tape is placed over the seams between drywall sheets.

Level 2: A thin layer of mud is applied over the tape and screw holes. This level is common for utility rooms or walls that will be covered.

Level 3: A full coat of mud covers the screw holes and tape, but the surface is not sanded. This is often used in garages.

Level 4: This is the most common finish for visible interior walls. It involves applying two coats of mud over seams and screw holes, with sanding between each coat, creating a smooth surface ready for flat paint.

Level 5: This is a high-end finish for luxury homes. It includes full taping, mudding, and sanding, plus a final skim coat over the entire surface before painting.

There are several things you should not do when installing drywall. Common mistakes include: adding too many screws, over-sanding, not adding backing support, and installing drywall unevenly. You also should avoid screwing into the same place twice, installing Sheetrock with tapered edges on the outside, and making too many joints.

To properly clean and maintain your skip trowel drywall texture, dust the surface weekly with an electrostatic duster or vacuum with a soft brush attachment. Never scrub the surface. You can remove stains by gently applying a mild detergent solution with a paint roller, removing it with a damp roller, and drying with a dry roller. To cut down on cleaning frequency, avoid indoor smoking and limit the use of fireplaces.

You can take a few steps to save money on drywall installation, even when hiring a professional to do the bulk of the work for you. These ideas include the following:

  • Buy the drywall and other materials yourself to avoid product markup and delivery fees

  • Ask about discounts if you use the same company to tape, spackle, and paint

  • Hire drywall professionals in the winter when demand is the lowest

  • DIY as many parts of the project as possible, like replacing insulation and painting

Very little. One inch of water can stain walls, warp wood, and create a perfect environment for mold growth. One to two inches of water can do significant damage to drywall, insulation, and electrical systems. Anything over that is considered an extensive flood, often resulting in severe structural damage.
