"The crew showed up every morning on time. They patched/drywalled and textured numerous small areas. The texturing was so good, that it is almost impossible to detect where the repairs where made. They also framed, drywalled and textured the kitchen area for recessed lighting installation. They repaired an area where there was a shower leak. They replaced the drywall and textured an area where a closet had been removed. On every part of the project, they exhibited superior workmanship. And at the end of every day, they cleaned up after themselves. Hire them again? Definitely yes!

"They worked steadily each day and did a very, very good job.  I have  seen drywall work done on other sites, but none compares to the quality of their work.  They were very easy to communicate with and explained in detail what they were doing......This is a 2700 sq. ft. home and I am so glad that I used  Mudslingers Drywall........I highly recommend them in terms of reasonable costs and quality of work.  You will be glad you called them."

"We recently had the pleasure of hiring Bonito Painting for our home renovation project, which included drywall installation, tape and floating, texture and custom multi-color painting. From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The team led Rick was the epitome of professionalism. Right from the initial consultation, they demonstrated an exceptional level of expertise and commitment to quality. They listened attentively to our ideas and provided valuable suggestions to enhance the outcome, showing a deep understanding of our vision for the space. What truly set Bonito painting apart was their politeness and trustworthiness. Itâ s rare to find contractors who not only excel at their craft but also make the entire process smooth and worry-free for homeowners. They respected our home as if it were their own, maintaining a clean and organized work area throughout the project. As for the custom multi-color painting, it was nothing short of spectacular. The teamâ s attention to detail and skillful application of colors transformed our rooms into vibrant, inviting spaces. Their artistic advice on color combinations and finishes helped us achieve a look that was both beautiful and uniquely ours. The project was completed on time and within the agreed budget, which speaks volumes about their reliability and dedication to customer satisfaction. In summary, Bonito Painting delivered outstanding quality work, and their courteous and professional demeanor made them a joy to work with. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch drywall and painting services. They have truly made our home renovation dream a reality, and we couldnâ t be happier with the results."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can hammer a nail into a wall stud. But before you do, it’s important to confirm that you’re actually nailing into a stud—and not wiring, pipes, or ductwork. To check, find a few more studs in the wall, then measure to make sure they’re either 16 or 24 inches apart.

You can put certain types of plaster over other types, but doing so isn't always the best idea. For example, putting a coat of gypsum over lime plaster is possible, but doing so will limit the lime plaster's breathability and potentially affect its performance.

Since cement plaster tends to leave a textured surface, no matter how much you smooth it, some people prefer to use gypsum plaster as a topcoat over cement plaster, creating a smoother surface.

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

According to the EPA, mold grows within 24 to 48 hours if left untreated after a water leak. So unless you notice the leak and stop it right away, you only have a day or so before mold is a real concern. If you don’t notice the leak, it can take about three weeks for the mold spores to become visible. That means you’ve likely had an active mold infection for a few weeks by the time you notice discoloration.

Costs depend on damage extent of damage, labor, finishing, and whether mold remediation is needed.
