We are a small company the consists of only three employees. We normally do all the work required on a jobsite unless a third party is required for other services we don't offer. The depth of your pantry shelves should range between 12 and 24 inches, depending on how high it sits on the wall and your pantry size. Higher shelves should fall on the thinner side since it is harder to reach deep shelving areas the higher you go.

It’s best to stick with lightweight cabinets, such as medium-density fiberboard, if you don’t have a wall stud to secure them to. Unless you’re attaching the cabinet to a flat board attached to wall studs, it’s best not to risk it with heavy cabinetry or contents. Solid wood cabinets and heavy dishware should be avoided if you cannot secure the cabinet to a wall stud. Either way, always check the weight on your wall anchors and be sure not to exceed it.

If you’re brave enough to tackle building your own cabinet bases, you’re brave enough to install them yourself. You’ll need a stud finder to get you started, but the installation will be a breeze if you’ve already done all the hard work to build the cabinet bases yourself. If you’re hanging upper cabinets, you’ll need a helper, though, to balance the weight of the cabinets and make the process easier.
