We are family owned and operated have been in business for 16 years and have been in the appliance repair field for 20 years. We always offer free service calls with any repair and can give some estimates by phone. Call and let us take care of your problem for you.

"They are HORRIBLE! Before I start be prepared that the owner will likely run his mouth & take zero accountability after I submit this, he'll put it on everyone except for his lazy, lying, inconsiderate self. I had a drip under my refrigerator, I called filed a claim w/my home warranty on 1/19/22. They immediately sent this in writing to myself & A-Star appliance repair. I waited an hour before calling them myself. No answer. I called again. No answer, left a message. I called again. He answered! I explain the situation. I asked that someone please come out today. He said he can't it'll have to be tomorrow (Thursday). I tell him again about the leak. I've got towels down to absorb the moisture. He rudely told me "you're the home owner you should know how to turn off the water". I'm also a lady that cannot move a 500lb fridge. But I chill bc I need someone to come out asap. Next day Thursday morning, no call, finally reach out at 10ish. I explain that we need to be scheduled 1st or last as my husband & I are self employed & we have a 1230 appointment. He says he's working on the route. I get a call at 11am say he'll be here between 12-2. Calmly I say we can't be here, I explained that this morning. Can we be your last appointment? He gave a flat no! I'll have to reschedule for tomorrow. Not let me see what I can do, nothing. I say forget it then I'll go w/your competitor. Due to his laziness I ended up having thousands of dollars worth in floor damage all for a $50 part that this jerk couldn't be bothered with. He called on 1/25/22 saying he had a work order, forgetting we spoke. I say we found an other repai...click! This jerk hung up on me! He is a lazy, rude, unorganized & inconsiderate jerk. I notified the warranty company to have him removed as a vendor! Save yourself the headache of responding since I know you have no integrity or decency in you plus it would mean you'd actually have to do something. Then again you're best at running your rude mouth! It's a joke that you claim to help veterans for a sympathy marketing ***Consumers***- pick another repair company! Look at their reviews on the BBB as well. They are horrible. Do yourself a favor and pick someone else! Their lack of customer service or professionalism is disgusting and that's because they are in a service oriented profession. I called him directly Wednesday and Thursday. I even said when I absolutely could not be at the home which is conveniently when he scheduled it for. He didn't do work or step in my home because he's lazy and doesn't listen to the customer. He's gotten complacent with his home warranty referrals. Basically getting hand fed! He hasn't had a positive review in years! He needs to check himself! His laziness, & lack of attention has cost many customers thousands of dollars and inconvenience besides just me, I'm sure. He's the worst kind of small business owner. He's rude, unapologetic or unaccommodating. Total jerk!"

FAQs for appliance repair projects in San Antonio, TX

If your refrigerator needs to be repaired, contact an appliance repair company to diagnose the issue and repair your refrigerator. It’s okay to leave it plugged in and running, but unplug it if it makes unusual noises.

Signs that your refrigerator may need repairs include:

  • Food items are not being held at the correct temperature (between 35 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit)

  • The fridge is using too much energy and seems to run all the time

  • Loud and/or unusual noises

Possible causes include:

  • A damaged door

  • Faulty condenser coil

  • Malfunctioning control board

Contacting an appliance repair professional as soon as possible can help save items in your fridge from spoiling. Common fridge repairs include the compressor, control board, thermostat, defrost motor, coils, and ice maker.

If you’re having problems with your dryer, contact an appliance repair professional as soon as possible to inspect and repair it. Having a faulty dryer can be a major inconvenience in the home.

Your dryer may need repairs if:

  • It isn’t turning on

  • It’s not releasing enough heat

  • The drum doesn’t spin

Common repairs include:

  • A damaged or worn-out belt or

  • Damaged or shorted electrical wiring

  • A control board malfunction

Dryers tend to overheat or become short-circuited over time, especially after heavy use. Other common dryer repairs include door switches, timers, and control boards.

If the unit is not under warranty, then you may want to call a reliable appliance repair technician to diagnose the issue and recommend a repair. Some of the most common washing machine issues are inadequate water supply to the unit, poor drainage due to clogging, leaks, and excessive vibration while washing. Like ovens, the cost to repair a washing machine will vary widely depending on which issue you’re experiencing.

The average cost to repair an appliance depends on the appliance, make, model, the part that needs repair, and how long it takes to replace or repair a part. The following are the average repair costs for the most common appliances:

  • Refrigerator: $200–$300

  • Freezer: $90–$500

  • Oven, cooktop, range: $100–$500

  • Microwave: $50–$400

  • Dishwasher: $160–$300

  • Garbage disposal: $70–$250

  • Washing machine: $50–$450

  • Dryer: $100–$400

Appliance repair contractors may charge $40 to $120 per hour for labor, and most also provide the replacement parts necessary at an additional cost.  It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays and emergency fees may apply if you need your appliance fixed immediately.

It's good to contact the manufacturer first to see if any warranties still exist, and if they have any specific repair persons they recommend. Some specialty units or smart units may require the assistance of a manufacturer-approved technician. Oven issues can be more challenging to diagnose than other appliances in the home because many of the parts are difficult to access for inspection or replacement. Some common oven repairs involve replacing damaged burners, heating coils, or electric cables. Purchasing additional parts, such as a new heating coil may also increase the total repair cost.
