A-Star came to our home in early July for a washer repair. We paid the money and it has now been close to 2 months and they still have not came to the house to fix the washer. We were told initially that the Part that was needed would take 7-10 business days. After the part didn’t come in in 10 days or we hadn’t heard from him in 10 days we were than quoted 15 days. We are well over the 15 business days and still have yet to have our washer repaired I would NEVER hire this company again. They have changed their story several times and at this point we might as well buy a new washer.

"The repair on your washer is not complete due to the part being factory backorder. Im not sure why its so difficult for you to comprehend that you have a repair and parts needed during a pandemic that has put alot of stress on part inventory all over the u.s. We dont have exact ETA for your parts being available which i have told you several times. You have a home warranty company all you have paid is a small deductible and the warranty company is taking care of the rest. I have a honest company and i dont need people like you leaving negative reviews that has nothing to do with us. If your part availability keeps getting pushed back that is out of our hands. Since you have a issue with samsung parts being available i suggest you get on the phone and call china and complain to them."

Outstanding service. The owner responded to my service call to repair my cook top a few days before Christmas. The problem was quickly discovered and he had the parts available in his truck. This enabled him to complete repairs within an hour and a half. No ordering of parts. No additional service calls. Wow!

He tried fixing it but he couldn't because it was old and the part was expensive for the age of the refrigerator, it wasn't worth fixing. He came out two times to see if he could fix it.

Robert arrived when promised and thoroughly checked out the washer. He found a couple of minor issues, but no parts failure. Blew out drain line to clear any obstructions and shortened the amount of drain hose going into the drain in the wall (it was excessively long). The problem appears to be resolved. Robert also advised me on a few maintenance tips that should help prevent this in the future. Robert was super friendly and knowledgeable - I really enjoyed talking with him. I've used A-Star in the past for an oven door repair, and had the same excellent experience then also - with Rick, the owner. These guys are skilled, friendly, courteous, and charge very reasonable, fair prices. I highly recommend them and will be calling them for any future repair needs.

We really appreciate that the technician worked "late" on the Thanksgiving eve (Wednesday evening) to make sure our oven was available for Thanksgiving dinner preparation. Here's the story ... our oven control cooling fan began making noise about a week and a half before Thanksgiving. The oven is covered by our home warranty. They sent the work to another company and we wasted a week before getting switched to A-Star Appliance Repair. A-Star came the next day, diagnosed the problem, and order a new fan and motor. The new fan and motor arrived on Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the technician picked up on Wednesday, and made it out a little later than scheduled to install. Removing the oven to install the fan assembly also required removing the microwave. All was done smoothly and professionally. We really appreciate the extra effort and willingness to get us back in business for Thanksgiving. We know the technician had another customer to take care of when he finished our oven, so it wasn't just us who got extra-mile service on the night before Thanksgiving. We recommend A-Star. Our oven is working great and the turkey was delicious. (Note: full cost is not know, since this was covered by home warranty.)

Called with no answer but quickly returned my call. Once I explained the issue Rick responded with he was booked and could not come till Monday and it was Friday. Rick said he was confident by my explanation that it was a relatively simple fix and if I was comfortable he would provide basic steps. This was a repair I could handle as I am a true to definition handy man around the house. I was able to complete the repair myself with no issue and the machine is now working. Now I realize and understand he is trying to make a living for his family and it would not be in is best interest to always do that. But provided our circumstances it was acceptable. I am truly grateful for how Rick decided to treat me and highly respect him and his commitment to customer service. You can rest assured when I have another issue I am calling Rick not expecting a fix over the phone necessarily but to doing business with a company that chooses to operate like a true family operation.

I am very happy that he showed up earlier than estimate. He was very quick on the fix. I would have liked him to tell me how much the repair was going to cost prior to work being done. But the price did seem fair. Just seems a little backward practice.

"Thank you very much for the positive review sir. We don't go by standard book pricing like other companies do which is why we are so much more affordable than other companies. Standard book pricing or flat rate labor fees sometime's are very excessive in cost to the customer. I touched on that a little while i was there in your home we just go by whatever the issue is with the unit and travel goes into the quote we give in the home instead of over the phone. We dont charge service fees or diagnosis fees we come out for free and will assess the issue and give a quote for repair right in your home if the quote is agreed upon we take care of your issue right then and there and if a price is not agreed upon or the customer wants to go purchase a new unit we will leave a card and be on our way no charge no questions asked. Again thank you for your positive review we really appreciate it and look forward to taking care of you again in the future."

Robert quickly found the problem, not the washer, but with the electrical outlet. He made sure the washer was operating correctly and recommended contacting an electrician for repairs. Very pleased with the evaluation.

Rick came out shortly after I contacted him. He was very professional, kind and honest. He did research on the issue my washer was experiencing and learned there was a recall on my particular unit. He was honest enough to tell me instead of taking for granted my lack of knowledge of appliance repair. He didn't charge me a fee, instead he provided me with instructions on what to do regarding the GE recall process. I would recommend him to anyone. He was very impressive and straightforward. He definitely is the best!

I was hesitant to call a repairman to service my ten year old refrigerator. I was considering just purchasing a new one since it was so old. I went ahead and submitted a request for service through Angie's List and was immediately contacted by Rick. He was very accommodating and fit me into their schedule for that evening, allowing me to not have to miss work. My repairman was Robert. He was very friendly and professional. He willing answered my technical questions and explained the steps he took to diagnose the problem and the steps necessary to make the repairs. I have had other repair work done over the years but this was by far the best and non-stressful experience I have had. I would definitely hire them again.

It went great, Rick the owner was very professional and explained what he was doing and answered my questions without making me feel like I was bothering him. I have recommended him to my friends already. Being a woman, I dislike when people try to take advantage of that and Rick was very honest throughout the process.

Well. One appliance was checked and only needed minor repair which was done quickly. Replacement was recommended for second appliance. A part is needed for third appliance, pending. Rick was courteous over the phone and Robert was friendly and efficient. Would definitely hire again.

Fantastic!!!! I had spent an hour or so looking for someone to help me with a particular situation. The answer was "no" to most of the people I called because they only cleaned central air units. I continued searching and finally found the A-Star Appliance Repair company. The rep listened to my problem and said he couldn't guarantee to resolve my issue but would certainly try. He set a date and time, requested all my information. A rep called prior to my appt. time stated he was on his way shortly and arrived promptly. The rep was very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and most importantly very honest and sincere regarding my issue. The window air conditioner was located rather high on the wall of the bedroom. It needed removing and cleaning. After it was removed, the rep was able to see that the air conditioner was infact clean. He then proceeded to transfer the air conditioner to the room I needed it in. Since there was no cleaning done, he didn't charged for the visit nor for any of the information he gave me regarding the condition of the unit. As a satisfied customer, the problem was resolved and great service provided, I will certainly contact this company for my future needs. Thank you.

A-Star called to confirm ahead of the appointment and arrived within the stated time frame. The technician was friendly and polite. He quickly identified the malfunction in my LG front loader and then asked if I was comfortable doing the work myself, because he didn't want to charge any more that was necessary. I really appreciated that. Was I confirmed that I like to save money and do things myself he explained everything that I needed to know to purchase and perform the repair myself. After his thorough explanation I asked how much I owed him for the house call and he told me it was free. Great service.

The technician was fabulous. He was very courteous, knowledgeable of the problem and had it fixed in about 15 minutes. What I thought was a water pump actually was a clogged filter in the pump. We have used the washer since then and everything has bee operating like new.
