"Outstanding. After another company completely botched the job and wasted our time, Lone Star came out a couple of days later, diagnosed the job, received approval from our home warranty company, and had the work completed. They did outstanding work, and even a year later we've had no issues with their work. I'm so thankful to Lone Star. After they finished, a couple of weeks later was "Snowmageddon" in Texas. With nearly a foot of snow outside, our home never dipped below 50 degrees. Thank you, Lone Star Contractors."

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

Some but not all types of pool enclosures block ultraviolet (UV) rays. You can opt for specially coated glass for your enclosure that helps block the harmful UV rays from reaching you in the pool. To keep yourself safe from harmful UV rays while swimming, it’s best to routinely use waterproof sunblock.

Increases living space and adds value to the home through enhanced utility.

In most states, it is a legal requirement to have a fence around your pool. Laws vary by state and city, so check with your state and local government for regulations specific to you. Additionally, most homeowners' insurance providers will require some type of fence surrounding a residential pool before they provide coverage.

Check with your local laws, which might state that you have to build a fence around your plunge pool. If you have children or pets or live in an area with abundant wildlife, you should consider building a fence around your pool for safety. Pools can present a drowning hazard, and while plunge pools are not very deep, younger children can get hurt if they try to dive into them. A fence can help protect your family and visitors from injury.

The safest pool fence depends on what you’re trying to protect against. If you’re concerned about children and pets, a fence with gaps between or under the material isn’t advisable, as they could get through it. Mesh fences tend to reach the height requirements needed for pool fence safety, although they are not the most durable. Solid fence types, such as wood, concrete, or stone have the best chance of protecting the surface area around a pool, so long as they are high enough to discourage anything, or anyone, from climbing over them.
