"I called Dave for a plumbing project. Dave was prompt and professional. He diagnosed the issue with ease and fixed everything in a timely manner. There’s no one I trust more for my home repair needs than Dave. He’s worked on various items for me and I’ll continue to call on him to get them fixed."

"The actual guy that did the work was good at what he did, but the method of tieing in the ceiling drywall to the existing wall drywall did not go well. I had to fix some spots within 3 days that did not hold. The sales rep needs to do a better job of providing information about the job to the workers. His communication skills need to improve"

Small jobs welcome

"This guy is super knowledgeable. We needed help with the toilet in our guest restroom. We would always have to jiggle the handle to get it to settle. Had 3 guys look at it before him . One advised we get a whole new toilet. But he came in and fixed it several months ago and it is still working well....no more waiting by the toilet to jiggle the handle. Such a pro and very polite and kind. Good help is hard to find, we are grateful for him."

"Clayton and Tony listened to my situation and asked pertinent questions. They took the time to "get it right"! I am very pleased with the repair work on the eaves and cleaning my gutters. Clayton was able to fix my door that would not lock. I definitely recommend this business."

"Mr Roundtree came into my home and did a great job of repairing several different items. He was prompt and did an excellent job of taking care of the repairs on the promised day. His pricing was fair went above and beyond to make sure that the job was done to my satisfaction. Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

Generally, a railroad tie retaining wall consisting of a single line of ties should be between 3 and 4 feet tall—and the height often tops out at around 6 feet. You can go taller, but you may need additional footings and reinforcements, including a second layer of railroad ties to support the added weight of the soil it’s holding back.

A retaining wall can only function as a fence if it’s high enough on all sides to prevent someone from accidentally falling into the pool. However, most retaining walls retain dirt, which means their purpose is not related to safety. There would need to be nothing on the other side of the wall for it to be considered a fence, but in that case, it wouldn’t retain anything and would cease to be a retaining wall.

The lifespan of a retaining wall varies based on its material, installation quality, maintenance, and local climate, with an average range of 20 to 100 years. Retaining walls made from durable materials like concrete, stone, and brick generally last a minimum of 50 years. Concrete walls typically last between 50 and 100 years, while brick can last for over a century in ideal conditions. Timber retaining walls can last from 20 to 40 years, depending on the wood quality, and pressure-treated wood walls average around 30 years. It is important to note that a retaining wall can fail prematurely if it was poorly constructed, for example, with inefficient footings or without necessary rebar reinforcements.

Yes, you can use cinder blocks for many purposes, including retaining walls, foundations, garage walls, and fences. Building a cinder block retaining wall costs between $60 and $200 per linear foot, including materials and professional labor. For a 30-foot-long retaining wall, the cost ranges from $1,800 to $6,000.

To maintain the integrity of your landscape, a retaining wall must be installed if the slope of the angle exceeds 35 degrees. The lean of the wall must be 1 inch per 12 inches in height to disperse the weight of the soil uniformly and guarantee the correct drainage of the soil.
