"Excellent! By far the best contractor I have ever worked with. Mike and crew corrected my drainage issues and then some! My pool always flooded with debris during heavy rains and it is no longer a problem. The crew was on-time every morning and worked very hard each day. I would never go anywhere else for drainage needs!"
"We hired sonart a Construction for a bathroom addition! Their staff was more than helpful and their crew was beyond experienced! They were actually able to finish this project a lot quicker than expected. Definitely gave me a piece of mine that I didnâ t have to worry about where the crew was are getting in contact with the office. I have dealt with some pretty sketchy construction companies and contractors in the past grateful that this wasnâ t the case here!"
"Build up remodeling helped me remodel my bathroom and make it handicap accessible for my needs. The whole team was very nice and did the job exactly as I wanted. Would recommend to everyone!"
"The end result is very good, however, there were some challenges along the way, which at the time were annoying, but were really just part of any construction / repair project. The crew arrived on time to begin the process of hand digging and using an auger to drill the piers to a depth of 10-12 ft. The first challenge occurred when the auger broke our water supply line to the house and filled it up with water. Brown immediately called their plumbing company for repair, but the pouring of the piers was delayed. At he same time, the auger machine damaged our porch column and gutter downspout. The machine also damaged the siding corner at our sun room at the rear of the house. During the process of digging / drilling the piers our sprinkler system piping and control wiring was disturbed and / or damaged as well. The piers were successfully poured, and after curing, the foundation was successfully raised. Because we had a sewer leak to repair at the same time, we raised the foundation, had the leak repaired, and then Brown returned to perform the mudjacking. Here is where the ball was dropped a bit. During this process, there was an enormous amount of dirt / debris generated. This dirt was piled, on plastic on our front lawn and other places. We knew this going in. However, after the piers were drilled and poured, the mudjacking performed, there was a 2 week period in which there was absolutely nothing done to "finish" the job by filling holes, replacing landscaping, and grading the dirt around the house. Finally, they had a crew available to return, but by this time, in the June-July, with no sprinkler system, and huge pile of dirt on the lawn, well, it was a disaster. To their credit, through all of these challenges, in the end they stepped up and made it right. They replaced the st Augustine in the front, their plumbers repaired the damaged lines, the price was adjusted to reflect the repairs to the downspout and siding, and they sent their sprinkler people out twice to repair / replace components damaged during the process. During the whole process, everyone was responsive, kind, and professional. All of our doors open and close now and we will have cosmetic repairs done in approximately 6 mos. after everything has settled. Bottom line, we would recommend Brown Foundation Repair. "
"We had 5 companies come out and give us a quote, by far this company was the most knowledgeable and professional. Chris took the time to answer our numerous questions, even before we decided to go with them. On the day the work was supposed to start , the crew was early, professional, and all around nice. They found an issue, and the superintendent Javier came out and explained in detail what needed to be fixed additionally. This was a builder error, and they corrected it. I never once had to chase them for information, or finishing the job. The follow up for our water test was scheduled one day after the job was completed. We could not have asked for a better company or crew to work on the stressful situation of foundation work our home needed. Kudos to all, and we will be recommending your company to anyone who needs foundation work. Thank you again!!"

"We had an issue with our sidewalk and curb in front of our house being unlevel and possibly a safety hazard. Jakalon was a one man show last Saturday. He was courteous, informative and professionally personable when he spoke with my husband and I. We would check on him and his work during the process and he would stop and share what he was doing. We were able to sign off on his work in a satisfactory time frame. Thanks J, we like your work!"
Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts
In Plano, interior basement waterproofing projects such as applying sealants or installing vapor barriers usually take 1-2 days. More complex drainage system installations can require 3-7 days, while exterior waterproofing with excavation often takes 10-14 days or longer. Weather delays during storm season and high demand can extend project timelines, so it’s smart to plan ahead and schedule work outside peak rainfall periods.

In Plano, overwatering lawns near your foundation, letting gutters clog or overflow, and planting deep-rooted shrubs too close to your home can undermine basement waterproofing. Blocking foundation vents, neglecting to clean gutters before storm season, and ignoring small cracks allow moisture to penetrate. Regularly inspecting drainage systems and addressing minor issues promptly helps extend the life of your waterproofing investment.
Helpful?
In Plano, it’s time to consider basement waterproofing if you notice water stains, musty smells, visible mold, or cracks wider than 1/8 inch on basement walls—especially after heavy rain. Watch for efflorescence (white, chalky residue), pooling water, or damp spots on floors. Scheduling an inspection before spring storms or after severe weather helps prevent foundation repair issues from worsening in Plano’s clay-rich soil.

Plano homeowners increasingly choose smart sump pumps with remote monitoring, advanced leak detection, and humidity control systems for basement waterproofing. French drains tailored for clay soil, energy-efficient dehumidifiers, and vapor barriers compatible with finished basements are popular. Eco-friendly materials, rain gardens for improved drainage, and integrated storage solutions that accommodate waterproofing equipment are trending for both function and style.

The effectiveness of basement waterproofing in Plano depends on addressing the area’s expansive clay soil, ensuring proper drainage systems are in place, and using materials suited for Texas heat. Professional installation, correct grading around the foundation, and integrating sump pumps or French drains are essential. Regular inspections and maintaining HVAC and ventilation systems help preserve waterproofing and prevent future foundation repair needs.
