The same tech came out again and said that the basket strainer was improperly installed which means it was part of the problem when he was here the first time! So I was charged another 2 hour minimum because he didn’t do his job properly! So I am out of pocket not only the $500 that the previous guy charged me but, now the almost $400 for the first time Stricklands came out and almost $300 the second time today! So I have paid $1200 for just 1 freaking drain!"

While the part of the garbage disposal that attaches to the sink is universal, not every single disposal will work in every sink cabinet. A larger disposal may be too big to fit in a compact space, for example. If the pipes under your sink are arranged in an unusual way, it may be difficult to put in a bigger disposal, even if there technically is enough space.

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes.
