"After the initial visit, I determined I would not use him again for the following reasons?1) he sprays vehicles with grass clippings from the mower even though one was moved, 2) his weed eating is substandard, 3) we agree on a time and then he shows up early, which was not convenient for my schedule as this mowing was done on a property in another county in which I do not reside, 4) he likes to mow very fast and does not shred pine needles nor leaves and after he discovered, I was unhappy with his so called services he unloaded his mower and mowed some of the leaves to mulch like consistency and 5) he works by the hour and not by the job. The third and last time he was on the property was the worst. He said he doesnt have the piece on his mower to mulch, and he would have to go over and over the leaves and the pine needles . I noticed he had no problem taking the cash before he left leaving pine needles."

I started this company so that I could offer the community quality work for a reasonable price. I don't charge by the hour but by the job and don't hire labor hands but work with professionals from different trades who take pride in their work

Lawn Care questions, answered by experts

If you’re wondering when to mow new grass, you should be able to mow roughly eight weeks after seeding or two to four weeks after laying sod. Wait until grass reaches three to four inches in height. Be sure to check the ideal grass height for your particular type of grass, and never mow more than one-third of the grass height at once.

Wait at least three weeks after overseeding ryegrass before breaking out the lawn mower. Mowing sooner will tear up much of the delicate, newly seeded ryegrass as it won't have established strong roots to anchor it yet.

If your lawn and general landscape are struggling, consider calling a local landscape specialist to suggest lawn amendments, local plants, and hardscape changes to boost the long-term health of your outdoor space. While you may be able to take on small projects yourself—such as reseeding your lawn or testing the soil—a professional can help you build a plan to bring a struggling yard back to life quickly.

The decision of whether or not to let moss grow in your yard depends on your preference. Moss is a lower-maintenance alternative to grass that looks green and lush but doesn’t require irrigation, fertilization, or mowing. Unlike grass, moss doesn’t attract pests, so it can keep your yard free from bugs as well. However, moss won’t stand up to heavy foot traffic as well as turfgrass.

You can fertilize right after mowing as long as you've collected the clippings. If you leave grass clipping, they can form a mat that prevents the fertilizer from reaching the soil. Plus, grass clippings are rich in nitrogen, so if you leave them and then apply fertilizer, you can end up with too much nitrogen in the soil.
