"Called Mr. White because my rental property had a leak under the kitchen sink and a tub faucet leak. He contacted my tenants on a Thursday and made an appointment to come by and view the issues. White Plumbing scheduled with my tenants to make the repairs the following Monday and they never showed up and never called myself or my tenant. Finally after some messaging on Tuesday morning Mr. White informed me that Tuesday was a better day for him, if he know that he should have let the tenant or myself know so that he did not have to take off work on Monday waiting for nothing. Mr. White's texted me an estimate of $275.00 with no explanation of what work is to be done, so I asked for a work order/invoice or something. Later that day Mr. White's son called me and tells me that the charge has changed and that it is going to be $375 and that his daddy did not know what he was talking about and that he would talk to him about the quote he gave me. I explained to his son that I was not going to pay any more than what was quoted. My tenants called Wednesday morning to let me know that the kitchen sink was still leaking. I contacted White Plumbing they fixed it again, my tenants called me on Thursday morning to let me know that the leak under the kitchen sink is still there. I spoke with Mr. White's son and he explains to me that he is going to have to buy a faucet and that it is going to cost about $89 dollars, and that i needed to pay $375 to complete the job and I told him again that was not going to pay any more because I think that I was paying too much for such a simple issue. He again tried to explain to me that his father (the master plumber and owner of the business) did not know what he was talking about, so we argued a little more, which I think was extremely unprofessional on his part. Friday arrives and I texted Mr. White to let him know that I am going to have to hire someone else to fix my plumbing issues because he did not inform me, nor did the tenant inform me that the repairs were complete and I received a call right away which was unusual because, when I was trying to get something written on the work procedures or when they were going to show up for the job he was not so quick to act. They also used, used piping to make the repairs under the sink. Just a bad job all the way around. I will never use them again. They are the worst plumbing company I have done business with in all of my 57 years. I do not live in Waco so finding people to do work is difficult. I wish I had taken a picture of the piping they used because I would upload a picture."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Yes, an inspection contingency is likely a good idea, regardless of if you’re buying a new or older home. It can give you a set number of days to respond to objections that might have been found in the inspection so you can make an informed buying decision.

Full home electrical inspections are mandatory if you’re buying a new home, but if you’re just looking for a safety checkup, you have some flexibility. If you don’t have any concerns and your property is relatively new, a basic inspection is usually sufficient. If it’s been a long time since your home was last inspected, or it’s an older home, a full home inspection can help catch any concerns that may fly under the radar.

Yes, you can get a quote from a home insurance company without an inspection. However, if the insurer mandates one, you may have to determine who will pay for the inspection and submit it with your application so they can provide you with an accurate quote.

While you can perform many routine home maintenance jobs yourself, it’s often a good idea to bring pros in for certain tasks. HVAC maintenance, fireplace and chimney inspections, foundation repairs, and roof inspections and repairs should be handled by professionals who know what to look for and can safely perform repairs. You may also find it helpful to hire a local house cleaning service to help with deep cleaning.

A half bath is a selling point, adding about $8,000 to $10,000 to the overall value of your home. Removing it can decrease your home’s value—particularly if you have too few bathrooms for the number of bedrooms. That said, it may not make much difference if the number of bathrooms isn’t a problem. You could add value by utilizing that space differently, like a laundry room or workspace.
