"We got our roof replaced with T-Rock roofing and we more than impressed with the results. We used Brady, one of the project managers, and he took care of everything and made it super easy on us. We also used them for our AC units not just our roof and love all the work they did. Highly recommend for any roofing or construction needs!"

"Not only did they do a great job but they upgraded my roof to a hail rated roof, which was great! They also helped with getting our gutters, windows, siding and other projects repaired. He definitely went above and beyond to ensure my house was put back together again. I would definitely recommend him to others!"

"Lance Winters coordinated my roof replacement in Forney. I had extensive damage from the tornado in May. My neighbor recommended JML Roofing and Mr. Winters. They arrived on time, replaced my roof in one day. The entire area was cleared from debris and my small trees were protected. My roof is beautiful and I would recommend this company for any roof repair/replacement. Carolyn W."

Roofing FAQs, answered by experts

You can install solar panels on a metal roof, but it will require some additional thought and care versus a traditional asphalt shingle roof. That’s because heat dissipates off a metal roof differently than asphalt or wood, so you may need to space the panels further from the roof. However, a pro can help you with the details and provide a safe and effective installation.

It’s possible to install your chimney cap in some areas, but it’s usually better to hire a professional. Before you attempt a DIY chimney cap installation, check to see if your local building department requires a permit. If it does, you should hire a professional to pull the permit and complete the work for you. Even if you don’t need a permit, getting up on your roof is dangerous, especially if you have an aggressive pitch or slippery roof material, like metal. Hiring a chimney professional guarantees the job is done correctly and keeps you safe from injury.

No, a metal roof will not make your house hot. In fact, metal roofs help keep your home cooler by reflecting heat instead of absorbing and transmitting it inside. Metal also has high thermal conductivity, which means it gains and loses heat quickly. While the sun may heat the metal, the roof rapidly transfers that heat back into the air rather than retaining it. This reflective property can lead to energy cost savings of up to 40%, as your cooling system won't need to work as hard to maintain a consistent indoor temperature.

Whether or not the terms of your roofing estimate are negotiable depends on the contractor. Some professional roofers will be willing to budge on labor fees to some extent, while others will simply walk away from the potential work rather than lower their fees. In most cases, it’s best not to negotiate the terms, as lower labor charges could lead to your contractor cutting corners. Material costs aren’t negotiable, but you could purchase them yourself to try to save on delivery fees and markups.

You can install a spray foam roof over shingles, but it may compromise the roof’s protective qualities or shorten its lifespan. Before installing a new roof, ask a qualified roofer if your existing roof needs to be removed before installing a spray foam roof so you ensure your home has quality, long-lasting protection.
