"Cesar did two different painting jobs for us, one to get our house ready for sale, which his crew went above and beyond to fix any blemishes so that it would look it’s best for going on the market. The other job was on the new home we purchased, he installed lighting, fixed our ceiling where there were a lot of cracks, and painted the entire interior of the house. We are delighted with the results and plan to use Cesar and his crew for our future kitchen remodel and bathroom remodel."

"They came quickly and gave us a comparable quote. They use quality paint and primer. They move furniture to the center of the room. Cover everything with plastic and cover the floors. They cover the floors with paper from the front door to all of the rooms. They arrive on time and are very professional and quiet. These guys know how to paint and do a great job. They clean up and take everything they used away. They leave the extra paint and leave the place as it was when they arrived but with fresh paint. You don't pay until they finish the work. I will use them for all of our future paint or staining projects. Jason and Maria are a good couple and they worked hard to create a great buisness of 16 years."

"Mark and his team were wonderful to work with, timely and responsive. A year after they finished my house painting and deck staining, some stain had worn off my steps. Despite being past the standard Warenttee, Mark arranged to have the area touched up and even bought me the stain!"

"I had several remodel items I wanted done and scheduled contractors for bids.  Brian Hurley (owner of Lakewood) came to my home and reviewed the work I wanted done, giving me some suggestions along the way.  One of the things he suggested was breaking the remodel into "projects", allowing us to manage the process and become familiar with his work.  I really liked this idea and after visiting with the other contractor as well, chose Brian to begin with my doors.  I wanted the large windows in my living room to be replaced with one french door, and one that looked like a door but did not necessarily have to function. I also wanted the pass-thru from the old wet bar in the den closed off and the wall made whole.
Prior to beginning, I also asked Brian to replace my aging front door. He suggested where I should shop for the door and added that to the project list.  He began work on October 31st. , assigning a worker to replace the front door. He also scheduled someone else to begin taking out the windows to be replaced.  The front door was finished in a couple of days, and since the worker was available the following week, I asked about having my deck furniture cleaned and stained, and oh by the way, could we do the deck and fence too?  Brian had no problem arranging the extra projects, and those began the following Monday.
Replacing the windows with french doors took quite a while longer.  The man doing the work had a limited schedule, working only 3 to 4 hours a day.  I had said I was not in a hurry, so long as it got done!  We had a couple of issues with weather stripping, electrical outlets, old ceiling fans  and how to complete the doors that would accommodate my alarm system, but the doors were mostly finished and "prettied up" in time for my Thanksgiving guests.  The finishing touches were completed on Friday, Nov.26th.
Even though it took significantly longer than I had thought, the project was completed to my satisfaction and to Brian's exacting standards. AND I got two unscheduled outdoor projects done while the weather was nice I  All-in-all, a great job.  I will schedule "phase 2" shortly."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must.

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.

You have a couple of options when choosing a durable pool deck coating. Epoxy is common and offers excellent stain and water resistance. Epoxy also withstands high temperatures and UV lighting, making it ideal for sunny spots. You can also add a coating to cement, which significantly lowers the temperature of the concrete, is environmentally safe, and makes cleanup a breeze.

Choosing the best color for your home exterior should factor in longevity as well as your personal taste. To keep your house looking newly painted as long as possible, stay away from red paint. Although red homes pop and are quintessential for country-style barns, red paint tends to fade fastest in the sun. Go with earth tones if you want paint that best resists fading.

The best way to protect a deck is to prevent damage from UV light, water, mold, mildew, insects, and abrasive cleaning methods. Sweep regularly to prevent debris that hides bugs and traps moisture that can result in mold or mildew growth. Use a deck cleaner once a year to remove algae, mold, and mildew. Avoid using pressure washers on high, as they can damage the wood. Applying a deck sealant can protect the wood from UV and water damage, and adding shade can also reduce sunlight damage.
