"I too purchased the $99. special back in May and then we were bombarded with torrential rains. I received communication often advising that there were many issues out there due to the rain and was it ok for me to wait until they were able to catch up. Absolutely! Every few days and at least once a week I had communication from them. We continued to experience torrential rains and I totally understand that there are those customers that need repairs immediately and fortunately I wasn't one of them.
We were able to schedule an appt. that I could work with and the team were here that day and within a reasonable period of time within scheduled slot.
They were terrific! They were friendly, they were professional, they were efficient.
I see the F ratings. Sometimes things happen and sometimes there are those that need assistance right away. Again, I was fortunate that we had not experienced any leaks in the roof due to age or the rains. Due to the fact that communication existed, they were always friendly, they did apologize for not being able to get to me right away, that says alot.
When the time comes for me to make repairs or have the roof replaced I will call Perfection Roofing.

Skylights questions, answered by experts

While it is possible to install a skylight as a DIY project, it is not recommended. Skylights are the most likely type of window to leak due to their position on the roof. Even minor mistakes during installation can lead to significant water damage and high repair costs. Additionally, working on a roof is dangerous, especially when maneuvering heavy, bulky windows. Due to the required roof modifications and the need for proper sealing and structural safety, hiring a professional skylight installer is strongly advised to avoid costly long-term issues.

Most homeowners insurance policies cover skyight damage that is caused by hail. Hail damage is considered a covered peril under most standard insurance policies. However, this only applies if your skylights were properly installed. Also, insurance policies vary, so be sure to check your individual policy to see if skylight hail damage is covered.

A skylight's ability to withstand hail depends on factors like material quality and thickness. Impact-resistant options, such as tempered or laminated glass, fare better against hail compared to standard glass. Proper installation and regular maintenance also contribute to their resilience. While smaller hailstones may not pose a significant threat, larger ones can cause damage. Consider skylight protection methods like covers or screens in hail-prone areas to enhance durability and minimize potential harm.

The decision to remove a skylight depends on your specific circumstances and preferences. There are several reasons why you might consider removing a skylight, such as extensive damage, a desire for better insulation, or the need to change the room's layout. Additionally, if the skylight is causing leaks or other issues, it may be necessary to remove and replace it (which can incur additional skylight installation costs). It's important to assess your specific situation and consult with professionals if needed to make an informed decision.

Yes, you can install skylights on an existing roof, and it’s a common service that many homeowners opt for, especially on older homes built when skylights weren’t as prevalent. The installation process will be a bit more involved, and the design and planning process will take longer, meaning you’ll pay more to install a skylight on an existing roof than you would in new construction. The process involves cutting a hole in the roof, moving rafters, if necessary, and installing and sealing around the skylight.
