"Harrison and his crew exceeded my expectations! They extensively prepped our house including covering all surfaces that should not be painted, and caulking all the seams before painting. I was nervous about getting the exterior of our home painted, but was so pleased with the final result! Harrison made sure the job was completed smoothly and quickly. Thanks for a job well done!"

"Quote was itemized, work was started on date specified and I was kept aware of the progress and what steps were taken. Brick staining brought my older home up-to-date. Definitely would hire them again and have recommended them to my neighbors."

"Ernesto and his crew were amazing from start to finish. He was so kind and really paid attention to detail. He re-stained and repaired our back patio railing as well as painted our farmhouse interior/exterior doors. We will definitely call him again for any painting we need done at our home. Definitely a 5 star rating."

"Tex Painting did a fantastic job Painting the exterior of our Victorian style home, we had five colors use with all that the color change lines, we could not find anything wrong there work was top quality everything went great our home is 21 years old and needed a lot of love to make it shine like new and that is what Tex Painting did for us. We bid our Painting job out through Angi and received three pro bids back, Zach with Tex Painting gave the lowest cost. We will definitely use them again with Painting work."

"Vivax Pros were extremely professional and personable. From the estimate, schedulers, project manager and crew (Skyler, Brianna, Hunter, Arturo) we had a great experience. Each section was responsive, communicative, available, prompt, and the exterior paint job on our Denver Square home was done in the timeframe promised as weather allowed. The crew prepped, painted as we requested and cleaned up after themselves each day while on the job. I plan to use Vivax Pros for an interior paint job soon."

Painting questions, answered by experts

The number of coats you need to apply when whitewashing a surface depends on how opaque you want the final product to be. If you're going for a transparent, barely there look, a single coat or two may suffice. For fuller coverage, you'll want to use multiple coats. Another option is to use a less diluted paint to get a thicker coverage.

Choose based on climate, finish preference (glossy, matte), and durability. Tailored coatings also provide longevity.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.

The best time to stain a fence is when the weather is dry and temperatures are between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Late spring, early summer, and fall are typically the best seasons for this project. You should avoid staining during very hot weather, like in the middle of summer, or when it is raining. Heat and moisture can cause the stain to dry unevenly. Likewise, if it's too cold, such as in winter or early spring, the stain may not be able to dry fully. Before you start, check the forecast to ensure there will be no rain and low humidity for at least a few days.
