"Our house was in bad shape-the foundation had been sinking for years. Most interior and 2 exterior doors no longer opened, the garage was separating along the walls and roof, and all our walls had cracks in them. I heard of Legacy Supportworks at a home show-that's where I met Nick, their spokesperson. He came to our house, did a thorough inspection and explained the process so I was able to understand what was needed. The price was most reasonable and less than I expected. The production crew called before they arrived, arrived on time, and worked an entire 8-6 day. During the process, the production crew took great care with the landscaping and surrounding yard, sidewalks and driveway, then cleaned up any mess made. The production crew gentlemen (and everyone I have spoken with) were polite-no profanity- honest, trustworthy, no smoking, introduced themselves, etc. They went above and beyond their job responsibilities For example, at our house, because the doors had not opened for so long, the screws were warped. The foreman replaced the screws, at his own initiative. One gentleman, after work, saw an elderly lady down the block struggling to mow her yard, and went down and mowed it for her. Because they worked so hard, they were able to finish a day ahead of schedule. We are thrilled to be able to open the doors, have level floors and no longer need to worry about the garage falling apart. I have, and will continue to, recommend Legacy Supportworks. "They were the second company (out of three called) to give me the same evaluation.  The first company used an instrument to measure the level of the foundation, and gave me the same evaluation."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"With both building and architectural experience, Wally Westbrook has an excellent understanding of what is needed to achieve the best, and very different, end results for personal homes and investment properties. (He has helped me with both.) I particularly like his ability to understand what a site warrants. For example, he advised that an investment property did not need the size addition I was contemplating to achieve the result I wanted. He looks for cost effective ways to add a "wow" factor to even the most basic house. As if those qualities are not enough to recommend Westbrook Design, Wally is also a pleasure to work with. I will definitely use his services again."

"The Basement Kings finished their LARGE job this morning, and I can’t praise them enough! They had a long, difficult job, but no complaints. When they discovered a problem, they fixed it. No problem, that’s their job. They found the water problem had a lot to do with drainage, so they worked outside in cold & rain & developed a system to carry water away from the house. That, to me, was over & above, but they said their main objective was to get & keep the basement dry, so they did what they had to do with no complaints. Now you can’t ask for better than that - they give their all! I am totally amazed!!"

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

On average, a mudjacking repair lasts between five and 10 years, though it can sometimes last for well beyond a decade under ideal conditions. Its longevity depends heavily on several factors, including the condition of the underlying soil, environmental conditions like freeze/thaw cycles and erosion, and whether the root cause of the sinking, such as drainage issues, is resolved. Because it doesn't always fix the underlying problem of loose soil, mudjacking is often considered a temporary solution. Proper maintenance and evaluation can help extend its lifespan.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

It restores concrete, prevents replacement cost disruptions, reduces trip hazards, and provides stability at a lower cost.

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.

Yes, you can mudjack cracked concrete, but the cracks will need to be repaired once the concrete has been leveled. If the concrete is severely cracked in multiple places, replacement may be a better option, but for less severe cracking, mudjacking is a good solution as long as cracks are correctly caulked and sealed.
