Small jobs welcome

"Cory did 3.5 days solid of MASTER carpentry work on my home: replacing damaged wood, siding, rebuilding soffits, rebuilding trim, etc. His workmanship is unparalleled- wonderful attention to detail and very creative in problem solving some troublesome outside areas of my older home. Heâ s not afraid of working at heights- comes fully prepared with a modern array of tools. He is excellent at communication from start to finish. I couldnâ t be happier with his services!!! Thanks Cory!!"

"Mike Griffin and his team do great work - a few years ago we had them build a garden gate and gazebo, working from our design ideas and taking it to an artistic level - we still get compliments on the gate with its unique grille design! This latest job was mostly repair of an older deck including a new cover, a water-damaged patio enclosure and replacing a section of fence. So, a diverse set of building repair skills/techniques, all handled by Mike's crew in one job. John's masonry repair on the patio post is excellent, for example. Mike is very thoughtful and creative about problem-solving with older homes that have been remodeled several times. He assessed some roof damage as well and gave me advice on when it should be replaced."

Customers say: Quick response

"Joseph and team did a great job on re-building my deck, the work quality was excellent. Fantastic job on both the carpentry and the tile work on the out door kitchen/grill. The price was reasonable, great communication and a genuinely good group of people to work with. I would definitely hire them for other remodeling jobs and recommend this company."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

When deciding whether to use nails or screws for framing, the specific needs of the project must be taken into account. Nails have long been the go-to option for framing due to their affordability, ease of installation, and ability to withstand shear forces. They are perfect for structural framing projects where fast assembly is essential. In contrast, screws offer exceptional holding power and are particularly useful in situations requiring increased strength and resistance to pull-out forces. For projects that prioritize accuracy and long-lasting quality, screws may be the preferred option, though nails remain a dependable and efficient choice.

Framing a basement takes three to five days, on average, when completed by a professional, though it may take longer for a larger space. Keep in mind this doesn’t include the time to complete the design, obtain permits, and install the drywall on the framing. On average, fully finishing a basement takes an average of 45 days.

Framing most homes takes anywhere between five and eight weeks to complete. You’ll need to account for inclement weather conditions, material shipment times, the number of crew members, and the weight of your materials. If the weather is too hot, wet, or cold for the installation, this process could take closer to eight weeks.

The cost to frame a 2,000-square-foot house can fall anywhere between $14,000 and $32,000. This price can increase or decrease depending on what type of framing you choose, the quality of the materials, the project's complexity, and whether you decide to hire a professional to do the job.

Building a barndominium means converting a barn into a house. Barndominiums are becoming popular as spacious and stylish alternatives to typical housing structures. Old barns that become houses traditionally consist of wooden construction. However, newer structures, such as pole barns, often contain metal exteriors and roofs. Converting a metal outbuilding into a house presents an excellent opportunity to create a barndominium from metal.
