"Blake, Angel, & Aaron did a great job from start to finish. Blake did a great job of explaining the whole process with the pier installation. Clean up was great after job was completed. Would definitely recommend this company."

"Guys were prompt, courteous, and respectful. The price was also very fair. They replaced a circulating pump and had trouble with the wiring of my tankless water heater, but figured it all out. I could tell they cared, which is hardly ever seen in a company these days. We will definitely use them for our future plumbing needs. We all know its hard to find a good plumber. Please keep up the caring and good work!"

"Great experience with Tioga. They were very responsive to my timeline. I m a DIY guy and started a hot water heater install that turned out to be a little more than I bargained for. Billy came in and bailed me out. Loved his attention to detail and constant communication through the job. Because I m a DIY guy, I m used to saving a lot of money. So I was sort of hit with sticker shock at the price which I rated a little lower. In reality, they are probably pretty much in line with industry standard. I was very pleased with our experience and wouldn t hesitate to recommend Tioga to anyone needing a hot water tank replacement."

"I had a hot water heater installed today. Jason did A fantastic job. He was professional, friendly and answered all questions. I have used this company for years and prices were reasonable and work outstanding, however the price for this job was unreasonable in my opinion."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

No. Sump pumps have different capacities, which refers to the volume of water that they can remove. They also come in various horsepower ratings, which measure the size of the pump’s motor. For many homes, 1/3 horsepower is enough. But if you live in an area that floods often, you might need a more powerful model.

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.

3/4 HP is stronger than 1/2 HP. Horsepower measures how much weight can be moved and how fast, or the power needed to move 550 pounds one foot in one second. 1 HP equals 550 foot-pounds per second, so the higher the horsepower, the heavier the load it can lift. While 1/2 HP is a standard, powerful option, 3/4 HP has the extra strength to handle heavier, larger doors with ease.

A sump pump should be placed at least three feet deep in a pit. The rim of the sump pump basin should be level with your basement floor. If you find your pit is too deep, you can fill the bottom with gravel until the rim of the sump pump is flush with the floor.

There are a couple of similar alternatives you may consider for a sewage ejector pump, including a grinder pump or a submersible sump pump. Submersible sump pumps protect your home from flooding from outside water, though, rather than handling wastewater from inside. A grinder pump macerates, or shreds, solid waste before pumping it onward to the sewer line.
