We have 2 locations in Kyle and Katy Texas serving the Houston, Austin and San Antonio markets. At Baby Huey’s Moving we pride ourselves on attention to detail. Our employees are hand-picked, drug screened, must pass a criminal background check, and arrive in onsite in uniform. All of our staff is professionally trained to do it all. From packing your items in your home, apartment, or office, loading/unloading your piano, or cleaning before or after your move we are here for you every step of the way. “The difference is we care”. –Baby Huey

"I moved it to a two star because the leader did apologize. However, I deserve an apology and adjusted bill from Thomas who was rude, hung up on me, and said he is the owner so there is no one else I can talk to. We will see. The move took six hours for which I paid them $1018 —$1018 to move a one bedroom to another one bedroom both buildings had elevators and were 10 miles apart—no appliances or piano. The driver was slow arriving at second location as I continued to be billed. And I even tipped them. Though I am retired and in a fixed income. This is waaay out of my budget. This feels dishonest. The entire move took too long and the company’s attitude is “blame the customer” if the experience is not good. Yes, I was upset. I was disrespected. Then overcharged for a move that usually costs almost half that. But, what is my fault is falling for the slick website. Previously, I used Roman movers for several moves. If you want a great, fast, affordable friendly move, I highly recommend them: +1 (832) 279-8405. Not Baby Huey. This is my original review, which I gave a one star. I am in the middle of a move with this company. The main office hung up on me because I told him the foreman took a 30 minute break. I told him I had clocked it and he, Thomas, began yelling at me, “What time did you clock it?” I told him I had to check my phone. I had my phone at my ear and needed to look at it. He yelled again, “You don’t even know what time!” I told him not to yell at me. Then we both began talking and he said the call was recorded. I’m glad because I want the Movers Association to hear this outrageous treatment of a customer. Then he hung up on me. Whaaaa???? I have never been more disrespected with any move. I understand it’s hot and people need a break, but movers usually take a break after everything is loaded. The foreman on the move stepped on a container and it broke. I would have dismissed it if he hadn’t said, “It was in the way!” Whaaaa???? The bright spots in an expensive and horrible move were Damian and Robert. Damian has excellent customer service skills and was kind and thoughtful. Robert was also a tireless worker. If you like being treated rudely while their hand is deep in your pocket. Also Thomas said they would not unload my furniture until I paid the balance. Whaaaa?? Pay a balance for furniture that hasn’t been unloaded??? I will let You now the outcome."

We specialize in property damage restoration, remodeling, flooring, and roofing. Currently we have 8 full time employees not including field workers. We do use subcontractors that we trust to do the type of work that meets our high standards. Our Texas Remodeling License number is 44329. Estimates are free and we frequently work with insurance companies and can help get you more of an allowance than the adjusters want to give. Angie's List members have a choice of dinner on us or a gift of giant, soft towels after the job is complete. Our Senior Estimator is a grouchy old guy who has been in this business for 40 years. He's completely irritating but his estimates are the most complete and fair in the industry. To insure great work, we have the only 17 Point Worker Conduct Compiance Agreement in the business. We're huge football fans but we will work on Sundays (if your really want us to!).

FAQs for professional moving service piano projects in Houston, TX

Before your piano movers arrive, it’s a good idea to prep the piano for its journey to avoid damage, as well as clear a path to make the move as easy as possible. You can start by using bubble wrap and moving blankets to protect the keys, lids, and pedals. Drape moving blankets over the piano and secure them, if possible, to protect the surface from damage. Next, clear furniture and other obstructions out of the path from the piano to the door. It’s also wise to maintain a close spot for the moving truck to park out front.

Yes, it is absolutely worth it to hire piano movers. Pianos are heavy and bulky, which makes them very challenging to move safely and without causing damage to the piano and your home. Hiring piano movers is especially worthwhile if you need to move the instrument up or down staircases, as that can put you and your helpers at risk of serious injury. Overall, the price you’ll pay to hire a professional piano mover pales in comparison to the damage you could do to your piano or your home if you attempt the move yourself.

It is not necessary to tip piano movers, and workers from reputable companies generally won’t expect tips. However, if you’re pleased with the service and the movers are friendly and respectful, tipping can show your appreciation for how well the crew cared for what is likely a very expensive instrument. Tipping between $20 and $40 per mover is about average.

It is certainly possible to move a piano without hiring movers, but it’s not recommended. Not only will you need at least four people to lift and maneuver the piano, but getting it around tight corners and down flights of stairs might not be possible without the help of movers. Plus, pianos are exceptionally heavy and bulky, which means you and any helping hands are at risk of injury, as well as an increased risk of damaging your piano. Ultimately, it’s always worth it to call in a professional piano mover.

The average cost to move a piano is around $400, but your total will depend on the type of piano and your living situation—tight corners and flights of stairs will complicate the move. Moving an upright piano will be more affordable—around $250—and a full grand piano will cost closer to $550. Long-distance moves will bump all of these prices up and sometimes double them if the move is across state lines.
