I received a free estimate and was very impressed with the price and description of work to be done. I made an appointment and the packers showed up as scheduled. I had done a fair amount of owner-packing, as we had agreed upon. There was still much to be done for the remainder of our almost 5000 sq ft home. The TWO packers who were sent to complete the massive job in ONE DAY told me they were finished by 2:30 that afternoon. I was flabergasted to say the least. Very little packing had been completed. I was told the rest of the items would go in open gondola boxes since it was a local move. The things that were left included drawers full of Stuff, decorative items, computer and office equpment, audio/video equipment...an amazing assortment of household goods. I called the office and advised that the packers were leaving with job incomplete, and they sent another person out to help. The packers left after another couple of hours work telling me that this was usual and the moving crew would finish up the next day. They said I did not need to lift a finger to help finish the job. I was left speechless. The next day the moving crew of four men arrived and started loading the van. They too were distressed at the amount of goods which had not been packed up. They worked as hard as anyone I've ever seen work for the entire day. In the July heat, I might add. More men should have been assigned to complete such a big move. These men worked beyond the call of duty. Consequently, my furniture and other goods were not given the care they needed. I saw furniture almost being dropped because the movers were so tired. Coverage was not adequate for furniture and wood would be placed directly on the dolly without any kind of padding. Unloading was more of the same. The crew worked the entire day in the heat until they almost dropped. I had many slightly damaged furniture pieces (which I did not even try to claim). My new refrigerator was dented (which I did claim). The many gondola boxes were filled with a hodge-podge of drawers and cabinets emptied into them. It took forever to straighten out the mess after it was delivered. Bottom Line: We have moved many times. The packing portion of this move was the worst I have ever encountered. The small loading and unloading crews were inadequate for such a large job. The amount of work involved was overwhelming for them. I believe this company did not treat their loading crews fairly. I would not use this company again.
