"I absolutely love my new fence. Thank you Texas Fence. I was not sure who to have install my fence. I found by researching Texas Fence that they have been in business for twenty years, are a member of the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating, and had wonderful reviews. Adriana Medina (sales consultant) came and took measurements. She listened to what I wanted in my new fence and made a few suggestions. She was very easy to talk to and knowledgeable about fences. Jose Garcia and his helper (fence installers) took down the old fence and put up the new fence. Jose put up a cedar board on board fence, made three walk through gates, and a double wide gate. Jose and his helper did a fantastic job. You can tell they take pride in their work. Les Perkins (project manager) answered any questions I had about the project. Dave Malcom (fence technician) came and did a little fine tuning. He also came up with a clever way to hide the 1 inch gap in the double wide gate that I could see into the backyard. I know that wouldn't bother anyone else, but it bothered me. Now, thanks to Dave, it's perfect. I would definitely recommend Texas Fence. I'm very pleased with my new fence."

"Hunter responded quickly and supplied a quote in a short time. He scheduled the new fence within a week of submitting a quote. The completed fence appears well constructed and should last many years. We highly recommend him."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Houston, combining fencing with landscaping, irrigation, or outdoor lighting projects can minimize disruption and streamline permitting. If you’re adding a pool or patio, coordinate fencing to meet safety codes and avoid rework. Bundling upgrades is especially efficient during Houston’s milder months, and it helps ensure all elements—like drainage and access gates—are integrated for long-term durability and curb appeal.

Helpful?

For Houston, pressure-treated pine and cedar are popular for privacy fencing, while vinyl and composite options excel in resisting moisture and humidity. Aluminum and galvanized steel are ideal for decorative or security fencing, especially in areas prone to flooding. Always use stainless or galvanized fasteners and a gravel base for posts to improve drainage and prevent shifting in Houston’s clay-rich soil.

Helpful?

Houston’s humid climate, frequent storms, and hurricane threats demand fencing materials that resist rot, rust, and wind damage. Installations are best scheduled from fall to early spring, when weather is more predictable. In flood-prone neighborhoods, consider elevated or reinforced designs. Quick-setting concrete and corrosion-resistant hardware help fences withstand sudden downpours and the city’s high humidity, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Helpful?

In Houston, contractors specializing in fencing include full-service providers who manage design, installation, and repairs, as well as experts in privacy fencing, pool fencing, and commercial security fencing. Some focus on hurricane-resistant or wind-rated designs, which are crucial for neighborhoods like Meyerland or the Energy Corridor. Choose a contractor familiar with Houston’s clay soil, local permit requirements, and unique neighborhood restrictions for the best results.

Helpful?

Houston homeowners should consider expansive clay soil that can shift and impact fence posts, especially after heavy rains. In areas like West University, strict HOA rules may affect fence height and style. Always request a property survey to avoid boundary disputes, and plan for drainage solutions in flood-prone zones. Scheduling utility marking is essential, as Houston’s rapid development often means unexpected underground lines.
