"They do exceptional window work. We had them install all windows in our house and they are extremely good. They are not a big company but they are the most professional I had and I was very satisfied their double pane inert gas windows. They open up so I can wash them the inside. They are a good company and I was very pleased with them.  I intend to use them again in our new house."

"From start to finish, Niche Custom Tinting was incredibly professional, timely, and knowledgeable of their products. The team was very efficient, friendly, and we appreciated the level of work ethic demonstrated throughout the entirety of the process. Our windows look fantastic, the price was right, and our home is far more comfortable - especially in the living room and kitchen that both face the sun in the afternoons. Through and though, we have been extremely pleased with the product and level of service rendered. We're already considering using the company again for the addition of some blinds, or another form of visual window treatment - just because of how nice we think it'll look, while adding some dimension to the room! Thank you Niche Custom Tinting!"

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

A lace curtain may block some of the biggest insects from entering while still allowing a breeze to get through. If your concern is privacy, then curtains and blinds will provide better privacy than window screens; for UV protection, you can choose specialty windows or UV-blocking film. And if you just want an inexpensive, temporary solution, there are adhesive or magnetic screen panels you can install for an hour, a day, or a season.

ENERGY STAR®-certified windows are the most energy-efficient windows on the market. This certification means that the window meets strict efficiency guidelines set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency. While they might cost more upfront, they can save you money on your energy bills in the long run. ENERGY STAR®-certified windows lower household energy bills by an average of 12% annually.

The lifespan of window tinting depends on several factors, but a high-quality, professionally applied tint can last anywhere from 5 to 25 years, with premium tints lasting at least 15 to 20 years. Key factors influencing longevity include the quality of the film, the professionalism of the installation, and the type of window. Some companies offer lifetime warranties, while others may only provide a one-year warranty or none at all, so it's wise to verify this with your service provider. To prolong the film's life, clean it gently with a microfiber towel and mild cleaning solutions. Avoid harsh, abrasive, alcohol-based, or ammonia-based cleaners, as well as sharp tools or scrubbers, which can damage the surface.

The costs range from $5 to $15 per square foot, depending on the film type, UV protection level, and labor.

The best windows to tint are those that get the most direct sunlight—particularly sunroom windows or windows facing the south or east where the sun shines most brightly throughout the day. If your pets have favorite windows to lie in front of, you may want to consider those, as well, to protect their skin from sun damage.
