"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

Every other company bailed rather than even return my calls. This was no big thing for Terry. He replied promptly, was back sooner than estimated with perfectly fitting and color matched frames and screens, all at a fraction of the price other companies had been estimating (even though none of them would even come out to look at the windows without charging me for a service call that would have amounted to more than Terry charged me for the whole job."

Use a combination of blackout methods to truly black out your windows. If you want to eliminate all light from your room, try installing a very dark tinted film and then putting up blackout shades over the entire window. While you need heat to peel back window film, the tint will often leave behind adhesive residue. You can use chemicals such as isopropyl alcohol or acetone to remove the residue, though hardware stores sell specialized solutions for this purpose as well. You can also use soapy water in a pinch!

No, it isn’t necessary to have energy-efficient windows. However, if you care about your energy bill and making your windows more energy efficient, fixing any heat, UV, or air transfer issues is an excellent way to lower your bills and keep your house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Installing tinting on your own home windows is possible, but not recommended. It’s very easy to make mistakes that leave visible bubbles or imperfections in the protective coating. Not only does this look unprofessional and detract from your home’s curb appeal, but it also limits the usefulness of the tint and may still let sunlight and solar heat through your windows. If you attempt the application yourself and mess up, you’ll pay more for the wasted material and the labor to hire a tinting professional to fix the issues.

It depends on the light. If you have a privacy film installed, someone outside of your home would not be able to see inside during the day. During the evening, however, if you have lights on inside of your home, those outside will be able to see inside as the light is greater outside than inside.
