They first replaced the joist ends, and then they tried to level the house. However, they were not able to level it. They said, due to the way the house was built, it could not be leveled. Since they were not able to level the house, I requested a refund of $2,000. I didn't dispute the $1,200 since they did replace the joists (to my knowledge). However, since they did not level the house, then I requested the house-leveling fee of $2,000 to be refunded. I e-mailed them this request on 8/2/2015, but I have not heard from them. We have been in our house now for 5 years and we are having to replace the carpet. Both the carpet pad and carpet were really poor quality for the price that was paid and what was represented. The installation of the carpet was not done properly and it has never laid right nor looked right. We had them come out to stretch the carpet only to find out that the backing on the carpet had come loose which then caused them not to be able to stretch it back into place. The pad has already broken down in traffic areas giving a feeling of walking on concrete. The floor was not completely floated/leveled before the wood floors were installed and the floor does not lay evenly. The service that our sales associate gave us was terrific upfront but the way the flooring has broke down I would have thought they would have taken care of me as I am a customer that has referred business to them as well as a past client to the store. The prior store had told me that I should not put down a tile floor as I have what is called "soft crete" or light weight concrete but I talked to Matt and he assured me that they could install ceramic plank flooring with no problem and it would look great. He told me about the install process and the installers would put down a hardy board and clips around all planks to ensure that the planks would be level. I felt really good and paid for the floor install and the installers came out as promised. They removed the existing floor and I was very surprised that they installed new tile in the living room the same day. My flooring is very old and extremely uneven so I thought the company would put something down to get the floor flat. There is a difference between flat and level and I can assure you that before you put down a new floor you must have the floor flat. What is flat? In builder terms, a flat floor does not change over 1/4 inch over 10 ft. After the workers finished, I got a call from on the workers and he asked me where to leave the key. I was shocked. How unprofessional, a person from the company should have met me when the job was finished and we both looked at the floor and ensured I was satisfied. The floor was extremely dirty and the grout color was terrible and tiles were unlevel in a lot of places. It was the sloppiest job I have ever seen. I called Matt back and expressed my displeasure and he told me that Jeff would get with me and fix any problems. Jeff came out and he agreed on what needed to be done. Workers came back out and did their job. Wow. Their were over 30 spots that the grout color was not applied. How sloppy is that. I paid a lot of money for this floor and this is the worst floor experience of my life. When I called back and another worker came out to fix the grout color problem, she could not even talk to me in my native language which is English, so I could not discuss with her the problems with the floor. Worst floor experience of my life. An original invoice detailing the work was submitted and agreed upon. Some of the work has been completed, although at less than a professional level. The yard was not leveled before pouring the concrete, and there are already cracks appearing. Crude holes were cut out for gutters rather than installing proper equipment. Concrete was splashed onto the house. The edges of the cut-outs are crumbling. The electrical work Frank Cameron installed was done without a permit and included the following problems: - Used 1/2" conduit with Romex interior rated wire on an exterior project - Less than 6" below grade - Illegal wiring run into breaker box, hooked to circuits too small for voltage The electrical wiring and gas lines he has run are illegal, as Frank and Trey Cameron are unlicensed. I?m not sure who to report this to. I will have to have the entire electrical job redone by a licensed company with a permit. The gas lines run are inadequate and unlicensed. I will have to have a licensed plumber redo the entire job, resulting in part of the poured concrete pad having to be demolished and repoured. The house needs to be repainted where concrete was splashed on it and scraped off. Corners of the back yard reek where the workers went to the bathroom . No outlet doors were built in the structures that will be required for access to the gas connections. Those will have to be built into existing structures. Bags of trash and other debris were left behind. There are maggots, etc. in the trash that was left behind. Bags of masonry concrete will need to be hauled away. Nasty leftover food in foil, scrap stone, chunks of concrete, water bottles, soda cans, and other garbage were left in the back yard. I last spoke with Frank Cameron on June 6, 2013, when he asked for more money, supposedly because 3 of his checking accounts ?had been hacked?. I refused to give him another payment. Within 2 hours, I had received a new invoice with additional charges and increased charges from the original invoice. Frank Cameron still has the opener to my property gate, my gate padlock is missing, my hose storage box is broken, and 2 garden gnomes, an extension cord, and new spotlights are covered in concrete.
6/13/13 - I?ve sent Frank 3 or 4 emails asking for updates and the whereabouts of my missing items, and I left a voicemail with Trey Cameron. All have gone unanswered. Frank Cameron has 2 civil complaints registered against him in Nueces County, and both judgments were for the plaintiffs. There are additional complaints at www.ripoffreport.com The company has an F rating at the BBB. Per the other review of this company on this site, I concur with everything the consumer wrote. They use really cheap materials and lie about the cost. Frank bought a low voltage transformer at Home Depot, telling me it was $100. I looked it up. It was about $70. The laborers they use are not skilled. They made a huge mess, and they left their trash around on a daily basis. "The plan on this job was to protect the pool from collecting debris with a plastic tarp. In the demolition process, the crew damaged several coping bricks. The framing, rebar, concrete pour and stamping went otherwise OK. They were late removing the tarp due to needing to work on the brick, and it later rained, covering the tarp with water. Joe offered to cover the coping brick damage, sending a guy at the end of other jobs to chip the broken bricks out over the course of the coming week. He damaged a finish tile. Also, the number of “damaged” bricks seemed to increase as we went along. We were not able to remove the tarp when anticipated due to the additional coping demo, and it stayed on over the rains leading up to the 4th of July weekend. Joe's original plan was to clear any water from the surface of the tarp with a submersible pump, removing the debris along with the tarp. This did not work due to the amount of water that had collected. He cut the tarp to remove it, with the debris falling in the pool. After a few days of brick chipping, I started asking for a new schedule. Joe told me to call the office. I asked this question repeatedly, sharing my frustration with the way the job was going. She eventually told me to talk to Joe when he arrived with the crew on July 9. When he appeared on the 9th, he went back to check on his guy and quickly went back to his truck. I flagged him down to give him a spare finish tile and ask my scheduling question. He drove away while I was talking, indicating that he had to get to another job. I waited for a while, then called the office to complain about being disrespected and still not having a schedule. I was angry on this call, but did not yell or use profanity. Joe returned to my home later that morning. I opened the door when I saw him. He came at me with balled up fists calling me names and threatening to beat me. He felt I had been inappropriate with the “seventy year old woman” who answers the phone at the office. He threatened to beat me again, called me some more names, and walked of the job. I have a recording of most of this interaction from my Ring doorbell camera. This was an $8000.00 job. I have paid everything save $650.00 that was due at the end. I will likely incur expenses that exceed this amount in having the work completed, if I can get a contractor to finish the job. Additionally, my pool service company indicates that they will charge $1500 to clean the construction debris and another $1500 to restart the pool. There will be additional expense in replacing the water to be drained in the cleaning process. So if you don't mind a contractor that bullies his way out of a job with threats of physical violence when things go south, Houston Solid Concrete is for you. Otherwise, steer clear. They only get 1 start because 0 is not an option."

"When we purchased our home in 2017, there was already a crack across the top 2 segments of the driveway where that area had sunk quite a bit. Besides the cosmetic issue, we felt this subsidence was also a tripping hazard. After researching online and using Angi, I found GROUNDWORKS (formerly FSS: Foundation Support Specialists) who came out to give an estimate. Ricardo showed up on time with advanced warning of his ETA. He was thorough and left me with a color-coded bid. Some of the driveway and sidewalk leading to the front door were going to be lifted, and some parts stabilized using the foam injection method. Even though I received bids from 2 other companies, I chose GROUNDWORKS for their 5-year warranty and mid-level pricing. All companies were 4.5 stars or higher on both Google and Angi. On the job day, they arrived on time. The job was completed in about 2 hours. I am very happy with the results."

FAQs for concrete leveling projects in Freeport, TX
Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.
The average cost of mudjacking is around $5per square foot of concrete, with most concrete leveling jobs totaling between $3 and $8per square foot. The typical cost to fix a sinking portion of concrete slab with mudjacking is around $1,100. The price you’ll pay depends on the size of the concrete slab you need to be leveled, the accessibility of the slab, and the type of material your contractor uses beneath the concrete to lift it back into place.
In most cases, no, mudjacking is not possible as a DIY job. Not only do you need specialized equipment to cut into your slab and pump the cementitious material underneath it, but it’s also a challenging process, and the consequences of making mistakes include additional structural damage to your home. It’s possible to rent mudjacking equipment to attempt a DIY repair, but the risk of added property damage usually isn’t worth the money you’ll save on labor, especially if the concrete you’re lifting is a part of your home’s foundation.
