"Hugo installed bathtub/shower safety grab bars. He did an excellent job. He was on time very nice and got the job going. The price was very reasonable. After he finished I showed him an issue with my patio cover. He took some pictures of the area and said he could the job. I will get back to him next week. Thank you HUGO!"

"You will never find a better contractor than Santos from 5S Renovation. He completely transformed my house! When I purchased my old family home, it was in total disrepair. But it is sentimental and I wanted a contractor who would help me restore it to its original beauty. Santos came in and provided the best service and best quality work I could have asked for. I’d get on the client list now because this level of quality work and professionalism is hard to find in any contractor. 5S work: - completely renovated my kitchen from top to bottom - replaced the entire house floors - replaced almost all the windows - added structural support beams where needed - coordinated and project managed the installation of my AC unit - removed a huge dying tree from my front yard - reinforced my ceiling - installed fans & appliances The list can continue. I’ve posted some before and after photos. Please note: I am painting the blue ceiling myself and is still in progress"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

You can fireproof an existing door to some extent, but it's better to remove the old door and replace it with a fire-rated model. Anything dealing with extreme heat needs rigorous testing and a door you DIY fireproof will not undergo the same safety measures as a premade one. Consider a door with a rating of at least 30 minutes or more in residential areas.

Baseboard heaters are generally safe and efficient, but they can be dangerous if safety precautions are not followed. To ensure safety, do not block the heaters with furniture, drapes, open doors, or other items, and maintain clear space around them for proper heat flow. Regularly check that items have not fallen on or under the units. If you have children or pets, make sure they stay clear of hot heaters to avoid burns. For added safety, consider models with an automatic shut-off feature and have them professionally tested. If a problem occurs with a baseboard heater, always contact a qualified electrician or HVAC professional for repairs.

To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning on a propane heater, make sure that your heater is suitable for indoor use. When you run the heater, it should always be in a well-ventilated area with proper air circulation. Installing carbon monoxide detectors on every level of your home is also essential. If you have any questions about using a heater indoors, contact a local heating and oil company for more information.

Depending on who’s doing the estimating, about 22,000 to 25,000 chimney fires happen each year in the United States. Given the fact that millions of Americans have fireplaces (and chimneys), that means chimney fires aren’t exactly common—but they’re not rare, either. Since they’re so dangerous, it’s important to take precautions to prevent them.

You don’t have to put smoke detectors in every room. At a minimum, though, there should be one on every level of your home, one in every bedroom, and one in the hallways outside the bedrooms. If you have a floor without bedrooms, place a smoke detector in the living room or next to any stairs that lead to an upper level. Attics and basements should also have at least one smoke alarm.
